Graduated Western Michigan University 2 years ago from their part 147 approved school. Equivalent of 2.5 years apprentice training, but I got a 4 years bachelors of science with a minor in general business.

Final part of getting that A&P rating is taking the oral tests and practical tests for the General, Airframe, and Powerplant sections.

If I pass, I can work on most anything that can fly and do 100hr inspections on for hire aircraft. 3 years after that, I can apply for an Inspection Authorization that allows me to actually sign off aircraft and release them to owner/operators after work's done.
