First Camaro

Hi All. I recently picked up a used Camaro SS2 (2010) and some of the info I found on this forum played a large role in my decision to finally pull the trigger.

Since my first BMW in 1997... i've exclusively driven BMW vehicles. (Most recently a 335i)

I had convinced myself that they were just the best cars in the world and nothing else compared. I'm even guilty of blindly dismissing muscle car fans when they attempted to discuss the differences between the two or compare them.

While my 335i was quick and pretty awesome in it's own right. After more than decade of buying just BMW... I wanted to try something different. So while looking for a replacement for my 2007 335i.. I decided to step outside of the box and I test drove a 2010 Camaro SS and I immediately fell in love.

A week later I'm the proud new owner of a Black / Black 2010 Camaro SS2

divinci, CONGRATS on the new ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

What did you like most? Is it all stock? Of so go to a muffler shop and get a muffler delete. Makes the car sounds like a beast.

A muffler delete is when they cut just the big cans (your mufflers) off the back of your car and install strait pipe. If they use your stock exhaust tips it is a very cheap mod. I paid 110$. It will blow you away how much better the car sounds. It will sound like a real muscle car. Without spending tons on aftermarket systems. It will give you plenty of time to reach out to your local camaro group and hear other exhaust systems for yourself. It will also give you a preview of what aftermarket systems will be like on your car. Oh ya, the mufflers are 25.6 pounds a piece so that's a nice 50 pounds you can cut off.
