I just got off the Chevy Cruze forums

For my wifes car.. Wow let me tell you i'm glad to be apart of the Camaro 5 community..

One person wasn't sure if aftermarket rims voided his warranty and another got told by his dealer that his warranty was no good because the ECM was fried six months after he put in aftermarket HIDs and he believed him!

I could not get away from there fast enough!!

LOL don't believe ANYTHING you read on the internet....till you can find multiple RELIABLE and REPUTABLE (for the most part, car dealers are NOT one of them) sources.

We're all here to learn in the end. That's just part of the process.

hey, ask any service employee for the official answer and they'll tell you that if you change your wheels that they may not warranty any work for connected parts such as rotors, suspension etc because your modifications were not tested to be out of the range of the stock part tolerance... Same goes for wiring HID, the load caused by the HIDs may be out of the range of the stock electrical system tolerance. etc...

With that said, any good dealer will still do the warranty work if it looks like you didn't do anything extreme.

It's a cruze forum. There are a ton of people who don't know certain or basic things. There was once a time where all of us didn't know half the stuff we do now.

How many members and guests on line? Some of the other forums I have looked at have very few people on them. No names though...

Not sure paul, i just read that, decided i would learn very little information about her car there, and came back home to camaro5.

They can say his HIDs weren't in tolerance, but then they have to prove it. Bust out that multimeter, take some readings in front of me to show me it puts the load out of tolerance via the service manual, and then explain to me why GM gave me a shorted fuse that allowed the load to destroy my ecm. After they explain to me what the magnuson moss warranty act is and how it doesn't apply here, then they can void my warranty..

WARRANTY

I installed a HID KIT in my camaro since I bought a 2LT NON RS. I get a nice buzzing noise out of my factory radio but that's it My dealer spent 2 hours and wired them and installed them for me

I kind of feel the same when I come here and people talk about what to name their car or what license plate verbiage they want. I just take it as forum culture.
