Sounds like you've just got bad luck.. I'm now on my 5th console (I have a problem that makes me buy special edition consoles even if I dont need a new one
 ) The only one I ever had a problem with was the very first one but those almost seemed to be guaranteed to get red ringed.

Like everyone else said. Give it air space. Also never turn it vertically. Always keep it horizontal. I recommend just getting a ps3 slim. Way less problems. Never have to worry about bumping the system.
