My daughter being 11 years does not know of McCartney, but she does know Nancy Sinatra . She knows " These Boots Are Made for Walking" . She started to sing it the other day , go figure.

Just who is this Sir Paul guy anyway? (you're kiddin', right? )

Sir Paul McCartney is one of a very small number of 20th and 21st century artists, visionaries and thinkers whose works, 100 years hence, will be globally recognized and regarded as ground breaking; their contributions to the arts and sciences and cultural impact will be even more far-reaching and difficult to imagine.

In addition to Sir Paul McCartney, other notables will include John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Elton John, Dr. Stephen Hawking, Dr. Robert Jarvik, Dr. Jonas Salk, Alexander Fleming, Robert Goddard, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and yes, Mark Zuckerburg.

In a 100 years, these individuals will be regarded in the same company as Beethoven, Mozart, Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, Sir Isaac Newton, Louis Pasteur, Jules Verne and DaVinci, among others.

I just don't see Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber, or even The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills standing up to the test of time.

And for those who don't know about this Sir Paul guy?

It makes me wonder if these are the same people who think that the first-ever Camaros were invented in 2007 for the Transformers Movie.

I dont even see why it matters that some people dont know who some famous person is just because he did help change music but he is like 70ish years old and the beatles were 60's music and some 70's Im not a huge beatles fan i like some songs but eh i dont see whats so great imo. I think everyone should have a right to what they want to listen to and who they care about. I think if u werent raised on it ur prolly not gonna listen to it. I was raised on oldies and 80's music mostly and i still listen to that stuff to this day. I can appreiciate the stuff that was out in the 70's but its not high on my list.

You still dont know who he is do you ? Wake up and care about what matters. He is still to this day an Icon and a now a Knite. Music would not be what it is today without him.

The Beatles were okay, the Stones were better, and Big Brother and the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin, of course) were pretty close to the very top notch. I've seen all of them in concert in the City. Oh yeah, "the City" is San Francisco. The Dead, Quicksilver, et al it's hard too say which was best. They were all hella good.

I saw Paul McCartney in concert in Washington, DC back in August 2009. It was a typical August day in DC, 90s with 100% humidity. That old dude rocked wearing that British suit he wears, meanwhile I'm sweating my butt off wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I was a fan before but even a bigger fan afterward. Even after all these decades he can still wow an audience.

Wow, 2009, eh? I saw him in 1965 at Candlestick Park, his last concert in the U.S. as a member of the Beatles. Unless, the universe has switched time lines...
