Keep in mind that with Apple products you will not have Flash functionality unless you jailbreak it and install Flash yourself. I know everyone says that Flash sucks and is dying out anyway, but the reality is that a LOT of web pages still use Flash, and you'll end up seeing lots of sad blue lego bricks instead of the content you were searching for.

I have both and Ipad (Gen1) and an Motorola Xoom (Gen 1). Both are solid devices. I will say that as with most Apple products the Ipad has a more polished look to the user interface. However, in all my tests, I actually prefer the Motorola Xoom by a small margin.

I am a bit of a technophile so I like to mess with the underlying operations of the device. I think the Xoom is a bit faster and being open source code, the apps you can get allow you better control of the user interface and how you interact with the device.

I would say if you are just using it for games and movies, you will be satisfied with either device.

The really cool thing about the Transformer series is the keyboard dock that you can buy for it. It basically turns the tablet into a netbook.

I just cant justify 500 or more for a tablet that i dont have a real need for. 200? Yes.

Just like apple/mac breaking down and using Intel x86 chips, they will break down and start to support flash in due time.

even sooner with Steve dead.

They are seriously good dude. Now that HP is leaving the consumer business brands like ASUS, which are not commonly knows, are coming into the spotlight.

Ive always had good luck with ASUS.

I have bought two ASUS machines for my kids and have had nothing but issues with power supply failures etc. There is a reason that they are inexpensive. Like so many other things in life...you get what you pay for.

XOOM here. Android is always my first choice. If you want to buy a nice little tablet for very minimal cost, you should take a look at an interesting option:

http://www.x10.com/promotions/airpad...tablet.html?SN
http://www.x10.com/promotions/airpad...ablet.html?HP2

or
http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/c...AID=1078908019

coupon code:WEEKLYDEAL0202 - Will bring the price down to $199

If you want more technology, the next price point for tablets is $400+

X10 should push out a dual core 10" with the same other option if they want to be ahead of the curve. but other part is they just reselling the cheapest of the cheapest china knock off products.
