Let me relate my iPad experience at Christmas. I was out my brother & his wife in Atlanta.

It was very useful to pass around family photos and look up information quickly. Example was when University of Washington was playing Baylor. I was easily able to look up the stat of highest combined score without the hassle of lugging a laptop around.

It's just handy to have it around for certain situations. And, because I read a lot, it's usually always with me. Battery life is great.

personally I think the huge 10 inch tablets are way too big. My wife has a 7 inch kindle fire and i think its perfect for road trips and all that.

I cant wait to see the ASUS and google tablets.

Dunno why ASUS is even still in business

IM sold on the Google model if it has SD card or USB for more storage and app room.

rumor is it will be an xbox like deal where Google loses $100 or so on each unit to get the brand moving and stay in price point. [as Google won't cheap out on the option they say n have a stinker tablet fail. They want market share at any cost.]

Why? ASUS makes good stuff my friend.

Agreed that google will lose money on each tablet sold, just like amazon does. However they make up their money on information collection and ads.

I expect google's tablet to feature:

-Quad core processor
-A great screen resolution (as good as 7 inch can get)
-SD card slot
- Android 4.0 operating system
-GPS? (can you imagine mounting it in your car and using for GPS?)

My birthday is in june and i fully expect the tablet to either be out by then or at least be announced.

Asus is fast becoming a much larger player in the electronics market... they pretty much spearheaded the netbook market with the Eee PC lineup

Now you do.

I suggest looking at the new Transformer Prime http://www.androidauthority.com/hand...ime-700-44675/

First quad core tablet. 1920x1200 10 inch ips HD display. That is thinner, lighter than an ipad 2 and still has a micro SD card slot. I love my transformer with its keyboard dock I get almost 16 hrs battery life.

Sent from my Asus Transformer

I understand not wanting to buy anything "Apple/MAC", but accessories for them are so much better than what is offered for their competitors. I held out for several years before converting.

I've bought ASUS motherboards for the two previous generations of my PC, before having Falcon-NW build my last one 2 years ago.

I had a fan go bad on one, and they replaced the motherboard. No problems.
