Yup. That's part of what he's wanting to get away from. I tried to find some Edelbrock dealers on here familiar with it but there are none. Of course it's to be expected on an LS* forum.

Sorry to be late to the party Randy. whats the budget that he has in mind? is he wanting a complete stand alone system?

given the options out there. for ease of installation and thoroughness of the kit, I would go with a FAST EZ-EFI system.

and of course, if you look on powerjections website, they talk all sorts of trash about the EZ EFI system, but thats just the same as going to a mustang website to see what they say about the camaro.

The budget is around 1500.00 and, though I'm confident it's easy to install and learn, I have never even seen one. Been 20 years since I've messed with a carburated engine.

Bonnies brother is the one who built the Jeep. He's probably gonna be more familiar with it but I may be more familiar with an electronic set-up. Maybe not.

I'm not sure how these things even work at the point of fuel dispensing.

I'll have to ask him if he's heard of the other systems.

As far as clamp in sensors I suppose he can have it welded in???

Flying toilet looks pretty cool, but would take some old school manual tuning since it's not computerized. Similar to Hilborn system?

They basically work like a carb just the computer squirts only the fuel that's needed based on the sensors and the throttle. For a trail rig it would be far more reliable and wouldn't have the problems carbs do at extreme angles.

Mileage should improve by at least a few mpg's Power would kinda depend on what's on it now, but it should be very consistent.

these are stand alone fuel systems. they work just like the part of your ecm that runs the fuel maps and determines how much fuel is needed. as long as you have fuel and power to it, it will run and continue to learn as you drive

the flying toilet is ideally set up for a mechanical fuel injection system that has a linear progression of fuel flow vs constantly changing and adjusting.

and wouldnt be really worth it in an off road rig, unless its running at high rpm all the time

power should pick up as well unless he's got the carb tuned to its peak performance

Ewww FAST can't do anything theo ther can, cost the same price as the Holley kit but Holley is Turbo, NOS, Supercharger ready, just bolt on and let it auto tune, FAST can't do any of those things.

There will be no forced induction or spray on this particular application. Cost and ease are the big factors.

But ive been round and round this mod for a while looking at everything, it will cost the same in the end no matter how you do it. But the Holley kits has down the road option others don't offer for the same price.

I want a kit for my wagon, but looks like a trip to Disney will happen first.
