hyundai has stated that their main goal is the G37 with the genesis. the big problem is they can't even get past the the v6 pony cars in perception.

Good point.

And when the first thing new owners do is debadge the car you know you have an image problem that is not going away anytime soon.

i personally like the genesis badge better. i have seen a couple people replace the "H" with the set of wings on the car.

Genesis is a great looking car and a great car for its price. The interior is beyond crap. They complain about our interiors being plastic? The genesis is brutal for that, such a bland interior, the radioface looks older then my alarmclock.
Cars performance is pretty solid for the 3.8, the new one will be even better.
Sucks that its a hyundai, and its completely true that those guys debadge them as fast as they can
The new Genesis V6 and 4cyl turbo are going to be really really quick!
These guys were getting the 2.0T to 350rwhp easily wth a new turbo and tune, cant imagine what they will get with the new setup
I just cant believe how they ruined the front end this time, looks pathethic now. If I got a 2013, I would swap front ends with the first generation Genesis.
I thought that design was great minus the fact that it stole cues from the G

And unfortunately the Camaro has a beyond bland interior, fit is fine but finish doesn't at all match the exterior unfortunately and yes the Genesis is even worse . The 2013 is absolutely hideous looking, I don't know what people see in these cars, I guess cars are like people doesn't matter how ugly they are someone will like it.

I completely agree with what you said about them trying to copy the G37.

I came to my 2012 Camaro from a 2011 Sonata. While I did love the looks of the car, in and out, and the engine was really nice, the steering was crap, the sunroof leaked, there was a "cheezy" feel to most of the car. Worst, the dealership's service department was definitely not ready to step up to the level of customer service and sat that Hyundai marketing is pushing the brand to (or trying to). Actually started to hate driving it with the ridiculous electric steering it has. They aren't "there" yet, trust me.

PS: As for my choice of a V6 Camaro, while I (and I suspect others) can easily afford the V8, I chose NOT to afford it. There may be those who don't have to put any thought into the extra several thousand because they literally have it to spare, or CHOSE to afford it - good for them. But there's a big difference between not being ABLE to afford something and choosing to put your money elsewhere. Continuing to insult people who have the LS/LT's really drags this site down, in my opinion of course.

Its because Americans like to continue to feed the Monkey. They buy crap just because its foriegn and the media tells them its better. I have a aunt case in point. Had a 80s Hyundai that fell apart a little more each month until it was a 5 year old hunk o junk. Then...she traded it in on anther Hyundai. Lots of people reinvested there money in the same brand that fell apart in less than 5 years with less than 100k miles. The media told them to so it gave Hyundai the funds to make a better pruduct. Yugo could have done the same with better marketing and better connections to congressman and other politicians who work out backroom deals supported by state taxpayers who end up subsidizing foriegn car company factories in there state without even knowing it.

I can see most of you are like packer fans. You only like one thing and that's it. Where as, some people have one favorite team but like other teams as well. Those are the football fans. Those are the ones that actually know something about football.

There are way too many uneducated and ignorant posts. Seriously, before you bad mouth something, at least be educated on the matter. Quit bringing up the past when the present is what matters the most.

If you don't like the car, that's fine, but quit talking about it then. Focus on how awesome your car is.

So just because some of us favor the Camaro over other cars, we don't know anything about cars? Please.

And when the import guys and American public "quit bringing up the past when the present is what matters the most," we'll stop too.

Left lane news is claiming they have confirmation that GM is again upping the power output of the 3.6 to 330HP (but still only 280TQ) for the 2014 model year. Do I believe this....lets just say I chalk it up to believe it when I see it for now.

Anyways, that is a nice bump in power for sure, but still the current Camaro's weight is a hindrance.

Look out for the next Gen model though....if it rides on the alpha platform weighing in at 3,400ish lbs and 330HP....that will be sweet!

Look at half the posts about anything that is not domestic. They are usually uneducated. If you see a WRX, it's already rice to most. If you see a evo, it's automatically rice. Yet when a camaro has lambo doors or is dropped significantly, it's awesome. To me, that is rice. The only cars that should have lambo doors, are the cars that come with lambo doors to begin with from the factory.

I can't count how many times that I see Hyundai's history being brought up. Is that all everyone has? It's called history for a reason. Look at what they are producing right NOW. The quality has went way up. That's like bragging about how many superbowls your team won or how many world series or stanely cups. That's great if they did, but unless it just happened, it doesn't matter.

I have never seen any "import" guy bring up anything negative to say about domestics, except for the fact that muscle cars can only go in a straight line. Most of the time, I see nothing but respect from those drivers.

That will be the day. I doubt that will happen anytime soon. It weights in at what? like 4100lbs? They need to put the car on a serious diet. If they were able to make that happen, it would definitely be interesting and force Ford into upping the ante.

And you talk about "uneducated" in your last post.

It would blow it away in speed and mileage.
I think you will be very surprised. The old 3.8 306 HOP Genisis was capable of 13s stock. This is an additional 39 HP and I am not sure on torque. The auto is also being replaced by an 8 speed quto which will help there. my guess is the base 275HP turbo Gen will be a good run for the Camaro and the 345 V6 will be solid mid 13s without issue. That is more than a few ticks considering most V6 Camaros seem lucky to break mid 14s. In handling it will totally leave a V6 Camaro in the dust. I see a lot of talk here, but this is a true performance car any TRUE gearhead should appreciate regardless of the maker.
