IM me your email and I can provide you with all the info for a legal transfer. You do realize they are expensive right? An MP5 with transferable sear pack is around $15K and M16's go in the low teens. Want a Thompson or BAR, well they start in the Mid-high $20's. GE mini-gun, yeah think $250,000. It can be done though and it is not hard.

I am working on my CCL and am looking for a CCW. I am torn between the Glocks and the XD's. Ultimately I would like two weapons, one full size for the home and one to carry.

Thoughts between the two manufactures? I have experience with Glocks but also like the look of the XD's.
Cheers
K

Honestly, I like the feel of both the Glock and the XDm when shooting, but I went with the XDm because diassembling and cleaning it is a whole lot easier.

They both shoot very well. They both feel very solid in your hands. The XDm 9 (19+1) holds more rounds than a Glock G19 (15+1). I'm not really sure how important those 4 extra rounds are... But I think you can get higher capacity mags for the Glock if you really wanted to anyway.

The XDm also has a grip safety, and I've found the loaded chamber indicator on the XDm is much easier to notice than on the Glocks.

You can change out the back straps on the XDm to contour the gun to your hand size, so that's a definite plus.

All-in-all, you really can't go wrong with either one. I've put almost 1000 rounds through my XDm and I haven't had a single issue thus far.

Personally I much prefer the XD's over the Glocks. They both are great shooting guns but to me, the XD's fit better in my hands than the Glocks do.

Before deciding on what to carry, you first need decide how you are going to carry. Are you going to carry it just in the car? A belly band? Back pocket? Inside front coat pocket? One of the biggest mistakes I see is people buying a gun to carry that they can't actually carry.

I have two guns that I carry. A XD 9 subcompact that I keep in the car and a Ruger LC9 for personal carry. As much as I love the XD's and Glocks, they are simply too bulky and heavy to carry comfortably.

Ha! I carry a XDM 3.8 45 everyday. Cross breed IWB holsters FTW!

Looking at getting my first gun for home defense and the range. I've heard good things about Glock anybody have any thoughts or experiences? Either the glock 19 (maybe for CC later down the road) or 17.

For home defense, go with a shotgun. I own a m3 Benelli 12gauge and it is awesome. As for the glock, they are great guns, but go for the Glock 22. It is a 40 cal.

i've already talked to TAG on the subject, but i'd like to get some other opinions, too.
for those who have a CC, what do you recommend? i'm looking to get my permit & want something reliable with some stopping power yet is easy to carry & not that obvious. something more affordable is preferable - don't let the car fool ya, i ain't rich.

i've got a S&W Sigma .40, but i think it's gonna be a little big for a daily carrier. my uncle carries a Kel-Tec 32 & likes it, but i'm wanting something slightly bigger - kinda like TAG's Kahr PM40. maybe something in between like a .380 would work, but a compact 40 would mean i don't have to buy more ammo

suggestions?
