most of those tools and stuff you see that are black, but not painted are done like that..... best way to do it is to heat the metal up to a dull red and then quinch it in a bucket of lindseed oil. There are a lot of chemicals you can dip different steel and alloys into to change the color...... you can soak stainless steel and turn it brown and make it look like wood!

If I ever build a nice fire pit and get rid of the outside fireplace I will definitely have you build one for me, so far this Winter I have not used it yet, been a mild Winter

yeah, its 42 here now.... supposed to get below freezing tonight..... figures I'll finish up the fire grate.... then its going to be in the 50s at night all week
