Private session on the Nürburgring today :)

I didn't feel like working today (nearing the end of a project, and am kind of finished with what I need to do for it), so I decided, being almost at the office, to skip the day.

I just kept on driving (in the Sport) and ended up at the Nürburgring.

Light snow, but the track was open, and... I had it all to myself for the full four laps.

I knew I should have taken the camera with me :(

That sounds much better than work. Unless you are a porn star.

You know better. You can't post stuff like this and not have a video or at least a photo! You do have a phone with a camera, don't you?

How did you do? Did you go all out, or just have some fun out there?

Just for fun... there were roadworks on two places (cutting the trees) on the track, and the weather conditions (mix of rain/snow, what we call "wet snow" in Belgium) didn't really allow to go all out.

Last summer I did the Bridge to Gantry in around 11 minutes (with 4 passengers, and "only" a 2.7d in the sport).

Didn't really check the time, other than just on the watch in the car, but first lap I did in around 14 minutes, 2nd and 3rd in 13, and last one in 12 (with one quite big sideways moment LOL)

Back in 1988 when my dad went to Germany to pick up his 944 Turbo from Porche he took it around the track 3 times. He said it was one of the best things he ever did.

Congrats!!

Definitely is very addictive, although the very first laps... they're scary

I "discovered" the Ring in 1993, since then I've driven around 650 laps, in quite some different cars... (most of them in my old Lotus Elise though)

Yeah, how does that work? Do you pay some sort of fee or is it some publically funded thing?

You probably pay a small fee. Same way drag strips work.
