I just know what reality is. And I really don't want my parents insurance to spike that high just for me.

I didn't. I drove a 99 Sonoma I bought off my brother with 130k on it lol. Couldn't get out of its own way

Me either. I graduated in 1994 and my first car was a 1983 Cavalier. My dad paid $1,200 for it and I paid for the taxes, title, insurance, etc. It had 83,000 miles on it. I sure as hell don't miss that car.
