Migranes
I get them really bad on occasion, right now in fact. I can't seem to find a good remedy other than just waiting for it to go away. Any remedies you guys have that work for you?

ridlin. i had them for a little bit then found out it was because i was skipping breakfast. i would go blind sometimes, not fun times... Ridlin and ibuprofen is what the Doc prescribed me. haven't had them in well over year after i changed my habits.

Imitrex worked wonders for me when I used to get them and there is an OTC version of it as well...

I have suffered with sinus headaches and an occasional Migraine over plenty of years. Everytime I would see a Navy Dr. about them they would just say take some Motrin and lay down. I've used Maxalt in the past when I knew it was more than a sinus headache and it works pretty good, but the draw back is that it takes almost two hours to kick in. The fast melt Maxalt works just a tad quicker, maybe 1 1/2 hrs. My most recent Migraine was horrendous. I suffered all day thinking it would get better, but after throwing up three times I figured that was enough and went to the E.R. The E.R. did a CTScan and everything showed ok. The Dr. was hesitant to diagnose me with a Migraine, but said he'd give me a shot of Imitrex. If it was a Migraine then the Imitrex would work within a few minutes. They gave me the shot of Imitrex and literally within a minute the Migraine started to weaken. Within a 1/2 hour it was pretty much gone. I got a RX for Imitrex for any future problems.

I'm thinking that I'm going to ask my doctor about this during my annual checkup. This is something that has gotten worse the last 2-3 years.

Imitrex is great for migraines, though. Sleep helps me a lot - I only get migraines when I'm sleep deprived. Caffeine helps, too - that's why it's in Excedrin. Try coffee.

I have found that can help to extent, just had a Coke Zero and Ibuprofen. Seems to be helping a little bit.

i've gotten them since i was a kid too. right now i'm getting three different kinds of headaches. even outright pain medicine isn't %100 effective, but you might want to see your doctor.

My wife used to have them pretty bad too. She'd get 1 or 2 a week sometimes, and that was while she was on meds that were supposed to lessen the frequency. She started taking Protandim (an anti-oxidant supplement that gets your own cells to produce the anti-oxidants) and she rarely gets migraines anymore. Think it was about a month and a half before she get another one, and she said the severity wasn't anywhere near as bad as they normally were. Lemme know if you want more info on it.

I used to get them real bad and after going to the Dr a few times he recommended I get my eyes checked out since I sit in front of a computer most of the day (System Admin). I found that I needed glasses and my eyes straining all day would give me bad headaches. You never know? How hope you figure it out cause I know they suck bad!

I used to get terrible ones and I found a great homeopathic remedy. Lavendar.
Use drops of oil on your temples or inhale a lavender sachet. It works. Only thing that worked for me.

Tom, I'm very sorry to hear that you suffer migraines :( I know the feeling all too well as I've had migraines since I was 15 (I'm almost pushing 30 by the way.) Every time I've gotten one, it seems to be because of stress, or eating chicken. Chicken? Yep, as crazy as that sounds it's true.
Recently, and I don't know how safe or not safe it is, my boss told me to take 4 Tylenols and sit in the dark with my eyes closed. 30 minutes later, the migraine was no more.

I have gotten migraines since I was very young (they think I may have even suffered from them when I was a baby). Imitrex did not work for me, but I do take prescripton medication (Fiorinal) which helps, although not always. I say all of this to say that I have found Excedrin Migraine very helpful in dealing with them, as far as an OTC option.
