Someone trying to learn how to drive one doesn't have the skill for that lol.

Ive had my LS3 for about a month now, and I too just learned how to drive a stick. I owned a L99 and it is no comparison get the M6 its wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better and the fun factor is huge. yeah I sucked at first, but now, I know the sweet spot of the clutch release (which was key to my learning curve) I now change gears, skip gears like a pro. and it sounds killer compared to an auto. From a guy that had both L99 and LS3 GET A MANUAL!!!!! in two weeks time you'll get the hang of it. Learn it, and love it baby! Wooooo!

Its not fun till your first drive in a big truck, a big crane truck just a few lbs under needing a CDL, Stopped at a stop sign thats at the very top of a hill that had to be 50*, with a hachback on your bumper.

You better be a float master or your gonna be in trouble.
I floated that sucker like a steamship while gas braking at the same time.

it takes getting used to, definitely one of the harder to learn cars i've driven in stick. but so very worth every penny. Love driving it around everywhere. and sometimes when I have it out i experience nyc traffic and since im used to it its actually a breeze in traffic even.

Can't even work the clutch and brake right in my 3rd gen with 14s, I have to remove the lower plastic section that covers the under dash n wiring.

wont be long till you got a bigmac in one hand, texting with the other, steering with your knee and shifting gears with your elbow

I had a geo metro riding my ass one day in a dump truck.... I couldn't even see their back bumper, only heard it behind me.... and saw it when it pulled off. Woulda loved to roll back over it and flatten it

You are getting the hang of it! Just takes some seat time. I wouldn't even worry about downshifts at this point. You can just push the clutch in and use the brakes. Its all about learning the sweet spot in the clutch, where is starts to engage and how soon to release it (gently) til you get used to it. I have a 2SS/M6 and its one of the easiest std transmissions that I have ever used (although my previous experience is on cheap econo cars or big trucks.). I just love it. Keep practicing.

I can't get the shifter out of gear w/o pressing on the clutch. I tried it last night. I guess the TR6060 has some sort of lock function to prevent you from doing that.

I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer with the manual. If they want my business they will email me back. I do experience traffic but hopefully will not be seeing traffic in the camaro for a while. If i get the manual I will head out west in the camaro every night until I am 100% confident then I will tackle the stop and go chicago traffic.

it depends on the load being exerted on the transmission. if you're accelerating /decelerating, the torque of the engine/drag of the car, respectively, are holding the transmission in gear. it has to be in a neutral state to slide it in & out of gear.

my personal belief is that unless people understand the mechanics of this type of shifting, they don't really need to be doing it. their driveline will thank them. transmissions in passenger cars use helical-cut gears for smoothness & quietness. the trade-off is that they don't mesh together as easily & are a little weaker than straight-cut gears.
