Dude vent to us all you want. Better us than your family. I've had to save face around those who looked up to me in bad times before, there's nothing better than having an outlet to just vent and be hopeless every once in a while so you can keep from being bottled up all the time.

Sounded like me the doctor was trying to be optimistic. So Scott, Think positive. I went through this with my Wife and believe me it is very hard, But you can do it, Keep praying and let God lead you.

heres a local newspaper!
Please bring this story to the attention of Andy Maietta. Here is the story I am planning to run about Stephanie Bjorn. Please advise me if there are any inaccuracies in what I have written. Thanks for speaking with me yesterday afternoon. Mark Rosman News Transcript By Mark Rosman ENGLISHTOWN - People who have never met Stephanie Bjorn of Alabama will rally to help her on Sunday night. Andy Maietta, whose family owns Ristorante Maietta on Tennent Avenue (Route 522) in Englishtown, will host a benefit dinner from 5-8 p.m. April 19 to benefit Stephanie, 13, who is waging a battle against Hodgkin's disease. The youngster, who will celebrate her 14th birthday in May, is in her fourth round of chemotherapy and faces the prospect of additional chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Maietta said. Maietta knows Stephanie through her stepfather, Scott Bjorn. The two men met in 2006 when both became members of the online General Motors Camaro project. The new Camaro is expected to make its debut next month. "Scott is a very good guy and when he told us about Stephanie, I wanted to do something," Maietta said. "We will have a dinner, a silent auction and a caricature artist at our restaurant on April 19." Proceeds of the dinner will help Stephanie's family pay for her medical expenses which are not covered by their insurance. Guests will pay $50 for a dinner that will include a main course, salad and soda or water. Appetizers will be an additional cost. Maietta said $25 of every dinner will go to the Bjorn family. All of the proceeds from the silent auction and the caricature artist will go the family, he said. Reservations are required and must be made by April 17. Call 732-446-7431 to make reservations or for more information. Maietta, who resides in Manalapan, said his family has owned the restaurant, formerly known as People's, for 30 years.

Dr's dont know everything. Have you looked into alternative medicines that the FDA hasnt already banned (cos it would eat away profit from the phara' corps).
Either way, always praying for you guys.

Sounds like the Dr is just ensuring odds for full and complete recovery... Remember NEVER having to do it again is the goal. It's a tough go for sure, but Stephanie is a trooper and at the top of our prayer list this Easter Sunday.

You just have to try to keep her in good spirits. My mother in law had breast cancer and beat it. She had to do the chemo and radiation, but she beat it. Her hair grew back and everything. She has recently had a relapse and is about to start her chemo again, but she told me the reason she made it through was because she stayed positive and had a lot of strong people around her.
I know that is completely different from what you and your daughter are going through, but one factor that many doctors don't take in to mind is good spirits. State of mind of the patient and her surroundings can make a world of difference. My prayers are with you. |
