So I'm watching this highway chase in LA on CNN
and I was wondering: Has anybody ever gotten away from the police in a Highway chase? It just doesn't make sense to me.
However, I like how CNN is using F1/nascar style commentary "now there will be a toll plaza coming up soon let's see what she'll do! ... oh she avoided the toll plaza using interstate XX, in a few minutes she'll have to make a choice, will she go with US-241 or will she stay on US-91?" Now this is entertainment!

And yea, getting away from police, even in a car, happens more often than you think. Most have "do not pursue" orders unless the suspect is wanted for violent crimes.

"my friend" passed a cop at like 125mph.. the cop started taking off, he thought it was a good idea to just keep going because by the time the cop would get to that speed he would be gone,,, well yea he got away lol
