I guess???

Playing a similar schedule Bama has given up WAY less points and even lesser yards. I think Bamas is the better defense.

But, it's splitting hairs. Both are top knotch.

BTW, who is in charge of giving scholarships and why the hell has Domonique Waley not gotten one?

And can they still give him one now that his leg is broken?

LSU's schedule is a lot more impressive. They played Oregon and WVU out of conference who have very good offenses. Bama played PSU whose offense sucks. Bama has given up fewer yards and points (to weaker competition) but LSU's strength is turnovers. They have a much better turnover ratio than Bama. I think that's what wins them the game. I'll stand by my earlier prediction, 17-16 LSU.

If his grades are good, and he commits to stay at OU, they'll give him a scholarship. I'd be very surprised if they didn't. If I recall correctly, he was at Langston on a scholaship, but was denied a starting position on the team. He's a good kid from what all the news/sports reporters say, and works his butt off[or did before his ankle fx]; the coaches reward those type players with s-ships. I think he'll be back with a vengence...better than ever. He's that type of player.

You do realize that you just gave the exact same 14 point margin, right?

Only difference is, you're picking Bama by 14 whereas he's picking LSU by 14, just with different final scores

I certainly won't argue. But when the turnovers aren't there, cvan they still be as impressive? We;ll see i guess.

It would be a shame if they don't.

Oh, I knew that. I just thought I was the only one giving that much of a spread.

It's good to see OU grant Whaley's scholarship.......nice move for a well deserved player.

Alabama - LSU.............the week is upon us and the predictions are flying and of course the opinions as well..

People talk about strength of schedule and can argue their points both ways so I won't get into that unwinable war of words.......

Really it comes down to a few basic , really simple things that undisputed....can either Alabama or LSU handle what is coming this weekend, who has the poise to make plays and who is disciplined.

Both defenses are good and both can be exposed, both offenses have strengths AND weaknesses and can be exploited.

The hype can turn players into bumbling idiots if they let it. Most of Alabama's players have played in bigger games in their careers than the LSU players i.e.....2009 SEC Championship against Florida and 2010 BCS NCCG against Texas so they MAY have an edge there.

This year Bama played 3 emotional games in Penn St, Florida, and Arkansas. In each of those games Alabama showed poise to overcome adversity......Pen State's only loss is to Alabama, Florida fell aprt after their QB got hurt and Arkansas's high octane offense was shut down.

LSU has played Oregon......we all learned at last years BCS NCG how to defeat Oregon and that is to be physical......WV.....well Syracuse smoke them and the other big game they claim was a road game to Miss St..

I have alot of respect for LSU's team but I really don't think they have been really tested this year...Is it because they are that much better than everone they have played? No one really knows.

I THINK Alabama is going to win and that is my hope , obviously, but they must come ready to play..........LSU must handle the noise and physicality that Alabama will bring. My hope is that no one gets hurt during this game, that both teams are full strength and may the best team win.......

Alabama 17-10.

One thing is for sure... I will be there to witness this game.

Selfishly, I'd love for OU and Bama to meet in the National Championship........but a lot of things would have to go the right way for that to happen........

If it did...........you'd bet I'd be hunting John down........we'd still be friends after

I still say it comes down to turnovers. If Bama doesn't turn it over, they win. If they do, espec. multiple times, they lose.

I want to see if LSU can still win without all the BS points. Bama has a better offense AND a better defense. I can't see LSU winning this game if Bama protects the ball.

I can even see a 21 point win for Bama. More than likely between 7 and 14 points.

I have so many people that I'd have to answer to if OU got beat by Bama.

But my days of talking stupid smack have been long gone.

LOL.....I have said all year I think OU is like the Green Bay Packers the way they throw the ball around......their running game is suspect especially now that Whaley is hurt.

I really think OU's defense is suspect in that they really do not play against good running teams too much.....but saying all that I still want to play OU....I think Bama would wear down OU in the second half and pound the ball at them they way they usually do...taking time off the clock and ultimately scoring......Long drives kill defenses will especially if the Offense goes 3 and out.........

Bama is capable of dominating LSU and vice versa. PQ is right about turnovers and that usually is what big games come down to.

I went to the Alabama/Florida game......what impressed me most about that game was even though Florida opened up with a 65 yd TD pass and Brantley threw for over 200yds in the first half.........Bama led by 14 at half. Unfortunately Brantley got hurt and that helped SEVERAL team play a wounded Florida........including LSU and Auburn.......

The Swamp was VERY LOUD and the place was electric. Floridas defense came out motivated, with great speed and intensity but ultimately wore down...once they got behind they fell apart.

True Alabama has not been tested like they will this weekend BUT they have been down a couple of games on the road, came out flat a couple of games but still won. Alabama tends to weather the storm early, makes adjustments and then shuts the oponents down.

A key indicator will be early on how many yards Trent Richardson gets on his run plays. If he is getting 4 ,5 or more yards on the majority of carrier then LSU is in trouble. Field position will be key, turnovers will be another and the QB's will decided who wins this game by the way they play.......personally I think it will come down to a kick at the end of the game.
