Maybe, but I think he is right. Unless it's a large luxury performance GT like a Merc, Caddy, or a Bentley I don't think any of the European rags are going to rave about any American coupe that weights 4000lb or anywhere near it. Given that, I'm arguing that both the GT 2013 GT500 and the ZL1 are outright non-contenders when it comes to their chances of winning any serious accolades from the major European press outlets.

Oh, they will ooh and aah over the power and the styling, but then they'll say how we Americans don't get it and the car isn't chuckable, tossable, suitable to be served with mushrooms, or some other knee jerk comment that allows them to short change yet another car from this side of the Atlantic.

I don't think it would matter if the Camaro ZL1 went back in time once it hit 88mph, they would still complain that it felt too heavy on the nose while going through the wormhole. And from my perspective I don't think that is as much a negative as it is a thorough understanding that, unless you actually re-badge the M3, outlets like Fifth Gear are never going to give a car like this all that it is due.

I can get behind that. It's unfortunate they think that way. It seems similar to growing up on meat and potatoes and then the second you get rich you become a vegetarian. Kind of sad they are so snobbish about it

the first one is a counter to someone attacking a forum member and telling him to leave the forum for asking a question

and observing that CUE is similar to my Lincoln touch is hardly a negative post.... especially considering multiple posters agreed.

i don't think those are good examples, and you will probably be hard pressed to find more than a couple in my entire history here.

that's what i don't get and mentioned it in my first post. they LOVE the M3 and it weighs 3600+LB then they complain about the Boss's weight and it weighs 25Lb less than the M3

their issue may actually lie in the steering ratio (12.1 Vs 15.9) and EPAS, not the weight in particular

As a European...

M3 has been the "benchmark" for most years here. Apart from the Audi RS and Mercedes C63 AMG, we don't have a lot of muscle cars. I guess it'll be hard for any American car to actually be found better than an M3, given that most Europeans still think a US car can only drive fast in a straight line...

That being said... not many people over here take VBH thāt serious...

Explaining what the Boss is was an obvious positive point, otherwise, she wouldn't have bothered mentioning it.

So my comment regarding that she will think the ZL1 is a great muscle car (in light of it's Nurburgring time) stands.

... she was passing 599gtb's in that video so the Boss was fast, she just didn't like how it was fast.
And what I'm saying is that seeing how the ZL1 literally tore up the Ring, that she is going to like how it is fast.

No, that comment was made in light of me correcting a forum member who made a ridiculously absurd statement.

no explaining what the Boss is in relation to other mustangs is not a compliment. it is the Boss's goal as a car. it is tuned and set up to be more of a track car than a street car. that's the "definition" of the car not her opinion on it.

and you obviously don't get it. she DOESN'T care about how quick the car is. the Boss or ZL1 could do the 'ring in 7 min flat and she wouldn't care. her complaint was with how the car is set up and how it feels in turns due to its weight.

that absurd statement was sarcasm because the OP was too lazy to type two letters.

The point I was trying to make....is that whether someone states a fact or not...it doesn't make up for a lack of tact.

if only some of the Mustang haters here do what you did and sample a test drive in a Boss or GT500, I guarantee they will walk away a much less Mustang basher and may even actually want to own one afterwards! This is my 6th Camaro and my first "mustang" and I'm lovin it. It would actually be a treat for some of the guys here to drive a 2011 Mustang GT, especially a Boss or GT500 to realize why some of us have been praising the solid axle Mustangs for their road course ability....better than the current Camaro SS or BMW M3. Only noobs and misinformed people would argue it.

You got that right Kyle.

I learned a longgg time ago that it's not about what type of car a person drives, it's about what kind of person they are.

Yeah, especially on a Camaro forum!

Sorry though, as now this portion of the entertainment has ended. You see, I only spend a certain amount of time trying to help people out. If they persist in negating my good will, then I end it.

And I have.
