Well, considering that I was able to get a PB of 12.51 @ 113.81 (2.042 60ft)out of my 2007 GT500 in bone stock form down to the Goodyear tires (and I am not an accomplished drag racer), I'd say low 12's will be common-place for the 2010's and I'm sure there will be several in the 11's in stock trim.

I have seen similar times to yours garagelogic from similar GT500 as well so the 4.3/ 12.4 seem easily attainable

That thing looks mean but I got to give the general alittle credit. The SS sports alot of performance for the $. Now lets take it easy on those price increases.

I fully respect the GT500, but I'll take my 13.0 second 1/4 mile Camaro for $35,000, thanks.

Without a doubt it can run 11's stock look at the hp/lb feet and weight ratio

Very, very, nice car....but I'm sorry -- For the price...and the power, I expected more. Some magazines are getting numbers too close to the SS for me to justify spending almost $20 grand more (should I be in the market for that high-priced a car anyways.). Is there more there? Absolutely....for both cars...

Best numbers thus far to best numbers thus far we are talking about a bit more than a half second difference in quarter mile times with early testing showing the GT500 capable of 12.3-12.4 1/4 mile runs. Almost no question we'll see somebody hit 11's bone stock. The Camaro SS is plenty fast, but we both know you'll never see one get anywhere near 11's completely stock.

Also, there can be almost no doubt that any performance gap between these two will widen as they gain speed. For example, a 60-150mph contest is probably going to be a lot messier than a 0-100pmh contest. But then, that is how it should be. This car isn't a competitor for the Camaro SS

Almost no question we'll see somebody sneak into the 11's bone stock. The Camaro SS is plenty fast, but we both know you'll never see one get anywhere near 11's completely stock. I think we may see a good pilot muster a 12.7, maybe even a 12.6 or so, out of the SS bone stock, but then it looks more than plausible that the GT500 is potentially capable of a 12 flat, if not an 11.9x 1.4 mile run.

Also, there can be almost no doubt that any performance gap between these two will widen as they gain speed. For example, a 60-150mph contest is probably going to be a lot messier than a 0-100pmh contest. But then, that is how it should be given where these cars sit in the ponycar heirarchy. This car isn't a competitor for the Camaro SS.

We've already seen a 12.3 on a cold track with a 20mph headwind, and in one of the first reviews I might add. We're already near 12.1 territory and there is absolutely no way this is as fast as it gets, no with those conditions.

We will have to wait and see....but i doubt it..... for costing almost 15k more than the SS and needing a supercharger to run mid 12s.....is a downer to me.

So you seriously think a 12.3 is as good as it is going to get???...absolutely no faster????....no way. There is absolutely something left and if that something is as miniscule as two tenths we are looking at a 12.1......three tenths are we are talking about 12 flat.

That said, the list of faster cars for identical money is very short. In fact, at the moment, there arguably are none. And even if that number gets no better, which seems amazingly unlikely, we are still looking at a half second difference comparing best run thus far to best run thus far between the Camaro SS and GT500. That is not insignificant.
