so how is this significantly different from my lincoln touch? yes CUE is better as a product coming out 2 years later should be but this is far from groundbreaking.

this reminds me a lot of Microsoft's sync system. Glad GM finally stepped up and added something similar. If they put this in their Chevy lineup I'd consider buying a Chevy SUV, but for now, nothing competes with sync in the price range... I mean it's a friggin $750 option for the 8" touch screen sync system for the Edge. That's cheap as heck! Please please bring it to the Chevy lineup so there is some real competition to Microsoft. Please don't tie all of it's good features into OnStar somehow either. Allow the phone's data connection to do everything just like Sync...

Very cool. I like how it's very similar in functionality to an Android-powered phone

we will probably be stuck with Chevy MyLink, which looks like complete ass. If they were smart they would try to stick this in as many cars as possible. Trying to limit it to the luxury market is a mistake. No one is gonna buy a caddy just to get this, but plenty of people would buy into GM cars as a choice if this were available to all their cars.

This system is going to be expensive as hell. It will only make sense to put it in Cadillacs. Once the costs of developing the system along with the materials/parts/software goes down, maybe it will trickle down to the other divisions.

Nobody's going to buy a $40k Camaro for the infotainment system either. Even if it was offered as an option, the take rate would be so low that GM wouldn't be able to justify it.

It will be Cadillac exclusive for some time. MyLink/Intellilink are perfectly fine for their respective divisions.

For one, it actually works, unlike MyFord/Lincoln Touch.

I hope the quality is better in the new ones. I own an 08 CTS and the build quality is not good at all IMO. The Lexus I had was much better built.

Any word on the OS behind this? Completely proprietary?

I heard rumors within the last year that GM was teaming up with google.
