Gen 5 Camaro owner bought performance, looks and style.
Gen 1 Camaro owner built performance, looks and style. Asshat Gen 1 driver earned a right to be a snob. |

Don't contribute that to guys that own 1st Gens either. I've owned my 1st gen since 1985 and have never flipped off or been an ass (at least that I know of) to anyone in another Camaro of any year.
I'm a member a large 1st Gen club and there are several of us that have 5th Gens as well. We try to keep the club strictly related to 1st Gens as much as possible and the 5th Gen is the only other generation that gets talked about with our club. Anytime new info about he ZL1 comes out it gets posted throughout our group. Everyone in our group that I've talked to respects the 5th Gen. I aways tell people they are two completely different cars and I can honestly say that right now I don't know which one I would give up first if I had to. That being said my '69 gets WAY more attention anywhere it goes compared to my 2010.

I really don't think its a car thing at all! It is a people thing...most people don't care what you drive,or who is driving it.Get over it and enjoy your car.

Several possible reasons for his behavior:
1) He's tired of getting spanked like a schoolgirl at the track by stock 5th Gens... 2) He just stole the car and there you are being a d-bag drawing attention to him while he tries to flee... 3) He's a proctologist and he's really cheap with advertizing dollars... 4) He just left the proctologist and he was in shock and trying to convey his pain... 5) Maybe he was being nice and waving back but all the other fingers on that hand we're shot off in the war... 6) He might have been from a country where that finger means...ah scratch that it still means what it does here

Ignore the doofus... Life's too short to get your undies in a bundle about rude behavior.
Enjoy the car and enjoy those who like it and share your enthusiasm.

He looked like he was about 22-25 years old. Not very old.

you can also BUILD gen5 performance. Gen1 driver in this instance is just an asshat and has no right to be flipping anybody off (unless you cut him off in traffic at the last light and he's got a right to be pissed off at you). |

kind of like the bike thing where the Harley guys would give that low hand wave... then the other bikes started it and the Harley guys would wave or not......
but I've never seen one Harley guy flip anther off unless they had colors on... my guess is the message has been lost.. the camaraderie |

Agreed. Some of the nicest car people I know are 1st Gen owners. I wave at any year Camaro out when I'm in my '69 or '11. Its ashame that one idiot out of a thousand nice 1st Gen owners can smear the image of the community I'd be careful about lining up to some 1st Gens with a stock 5th Gen. You might be in for a surprise |
