I take in 2,800 calories a day with 35-40 miles running in addition to 4 days lifting each week. You sir probably exceeded that 2,800 in one sitting. To give you some numbers, a normal 150 man sitting around doing absolutely nothing physical all day burns 2,000 calories. It takes 3,500 calories to equal one pound of fat. Considering you probably took in at least another 1,000 calories today, you've netted a gain of 1,600 or about one half pound of fat. No amount of swimming is going to offset that Beck.

I'm doing the treadmill right now. I have my 1 mile run down to under 9 minutes right now. But I know as soon as I go running outdoors, that changes.
I need to be able to do 3 miles non-stop at the same pace before getting into the academy.

I used to swim when I windsurfed, and I use paddles with holes in them that increase resistance and swim with only one minute break after 15 minutes. After a while I'm gonna increase that to an hour, but right now I doubt I can go over 30 minutes since my back is so weak. After a month I'll probably get back into weights as well.

Muscle burns more calories than fat.

Trust me, I know I've cut back on my alcohol intake a lot lately, that's gonna change once I'm back at school though.

Just budget yourself calories. Consider if ran 20 miles a week you'd have an average daily calorie burn of 2,300. If your going out drinking only consume 1,700 calories of food throughout the day and budget yourself 10 straight shots of vodka a 60 calories a clip. Drink 8 ounces of water after each shot to maintain a slight level of soberness and drink a shot only once every 30 minutes.

Sounds like good advice. I have actually been watching my eating this summer and lost weight, and worked out when I could. Laying around after I hurt my back has made me put on a couple pounds, but I'll lose that once I get back to working out and all that. If I can make it to OSU tomorrow, I'm gonna be so f***ed up it won't even be funny

Oh man....I don't missed those days of being effed like that. The day after my 21st birthday I couldn't get off the floor for about 3 hours after waking up. It will all change when drinking becomes legal.

First night back at work...

Rookie didn't think it necessary to release the pressure for the engine coolant and opened the valve anyways. Got a facefull of scalding hot coolant.

That sounds like a WC claim.
