Ohh mannn. This reminds me of when I'd been living in LV about 6 months and one of my friends from MN made her first to visit to LV and stayed at "Linda's Hotel." My friend, also named Linda, wanted to see a show with a Big-Name-Entertainer so that once she returned home, she could tell her friends. We went though the ads, and Paul Anka was performing. She was really excited to see him. I really DID NOT want to see him. In the end I relented. We attended Mr. Anka's show and I was amazed. That night I learned the difference between entertaining and merely performing. He was warm and genuine and had the audience in the palm of his hand. He is an amazing composer, musician and singer, complete with great sense of humor: he joked about the beating he took from his female fans about that song, and changed the lyrics to "You're having OUR Baby," and chuckled while singing it, not taking himself too seriously, making it all the more appealing. This was over 25 years ago, although I remember it as though it was yesterday. As a music fan and an a longtime LV resident, I 've had the good fortune to attend many concerts, shows and performances and very few have made such an impression on me. Given the opportunity to see Mr. Anka again, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Just when you least expect it.... Quote:
