2 hours in Arizona

Starting point: Trapped in a monsoon driven fog on State Route 260 in Forest Lakes at 7,700 feet. The temperature actually got down to 52 but I was only able to get the 59 pictured below because my flash kept going off.

Ending Point: 2 hours later at 1,100 feet 92nd street and Shea in Scottsdale having dinner, 114 degrees.

Relax Tom. You've never pissed me off. I just really understand what you're talking about in this post. My Dad has been living in Chandler for the last 8 years and I visit him every chance I get. On more than one occation I have driven out of the valley in shorts and a T shirt and wound up freezing my ass off in places like Prescott and Payson.

Fair enough just didn't care for the NEWB comment there that's all, I leave it at that. Anyway, I make the commute up to from Phoenix up to Show Low ten times a month because the my store up there had a bad inventory result. Usually I take the SR260 because its an easier than the US60. Today was a rare exception because a monsoon got stuck up around the Rim at Forest Lakes and dropped the temperature through the floor. Seems that Forest Lakes gets the biggest drop because its at 7,700 feet. None the other mountainous areas that I cover like Sedona, Payson, Globe or even Ruidoso fall that much. I'd say I was wide eyed when the fog started rolling in, haven't seen that once in 10 years out here.

Seems that way, multiple climates in the same day everyday does that. I still have a picture from 2009 when it was 26 in the Tampa area on my vacation. On the bright side it chased everyone off Clearwater Beach that day.

I understand that but consider the definition of what that term is supposed to mean. A Newb is someone who lacks experience or is new to something. Believe me I'm neither of those things when it comes to living here in Arizona or with what I do for living. Put it this way, I've never heard the term "newb" used respectfully.

To put this in greater context I've been doing what I done "Loss Prevention" for the past ten years for several companies. My job requires me to travel about 60,000 something miles between 12 stores, several of these are in the mountains. Although this is every day thing for me I still enjoy the scenery and often post about it on the forum. Nothing I encounter is "new" to me but considering originally from the mid-west I still find the scenery interesting out here.

Look....I don't want this to get out of hand like it often does on C5. Obviously you didn't mean what you said like I first assumed. On my end I probably shouldn't have jumped to that conclusion but occasionally we all do. Its all good, let the fun times on C5 roll.

That's is Sunny Arizona. We had tempartures in the low teens this winter and over 103+ this summer down here in Douglas, AZ.

Ohhh hangin in there, spent the day in Globe of all places. You'd think being 3,300 feet up would help with the heat, no such luck my car read 112 when I left. At least no monsoons on the ride home.
