I live in Ohio, I have a receipt from a muffler shop that states they put back on my factory exhaust. If you wanna copy of it, I can mail it to you, all you would have to do is manipulate the date. lemme know.

Not that I am condoning forging a document, but hypothetically speaking I could do the said alteration no problem.

On a different note: I think the cop was just being a stick in the mud. I had (until Monday when I put on my new system) JBA's 3" exhaust and let me tell you. It was loud, I would set off car alarms in the parking garage at work. I never once had a cop bother me about it.

Lets focus on exhausts. Tax dollars hard at work as usual.

I think it's more of less that the exhaust did not exit behind the vehicle.

I've only gotten one noise complaint in my life. That was in Newark, DE with my trans-am. It had exhaust. It just exceeded the decibel law that main street has in place. Warning.

There is typically something else you did to make the officer unhappy. Who knows.

But take it to court fixed, they should dismiss it.

I think this cop should be commended for reducing noise pollution. I can't stand loud noises and hate when people think I should listen to their crappy music and exhausts.

metthem...

Would you really post something like that in this thread for anyone and everyone to see? A copy of a receipt so he can go in to court and tell a Judge that it's been fixed? You realize that is a false report, right? Perjury? Like, go to jail? And you'd get in trouble too since you are helping. Hey, I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here. But it's just a darn exhaust...

Stieger, with all do respect, you are incorrect. Like Silverhawk said, each and every state has a law about exhaust. Some state you must have mufflers. Some might not. But, nearly all (if not all) DO have some sort of statute that says the noise decibel at a certain distance from the car must be below a certain level. Most officers don't mess with stuff like that. But, then you have your gung ho guys that all they want to do is write tickets. Why? I don't know...but they do.

OP, best thing to do is just either pay the ticket and don't mess with it, or get it fixed and go to any muffler shop and have a noise test done and signed off by the mechanic there at the shop saying how loud it is. that should solve that. And take off the tint and take a pic...ticket dismissed there...

and one more thing...if there is any cop bashing, believe me...it gets reported and I sure LOVE taking care of those posts. Wonder why....

good stuff. i am definitely going to take the officer's advice that he originally gave me. i was just reaching out on here to see if anybody else simply had any insight from a possible similar experience that could help me out even more. & believe me, i understand how foolish it would be to attempt any type of scheme in a courtroom. As for the police bashing that we all see...i think it really just comes down to people disagreeing with certain laws, but that doesn't change anything. & thank you for looking out.

Geez, lighten up man. Just fyi in the future, 90% of the time I am just fooling around, trying to make light of a situation. No, I didn't expect him to message me to mail him a copy of my receipt from Ohio, but he actually did, so I faxed it to him, and I sure hope his judge doesn't read this forum. Good Luck homie
