OPINIONS! SRT-8, GT500, or C6?
If you could drop all bias and had the opportunity to purchase something other than a 2010 Camaro (2SS/RS), which one of the below would it be:
2009 SRT-8 , Black, 425hp, pre-owned certified, less than 1000 miles ($39,000) 2008 Shelby GT500 Coupe , Blk/white stripes, 500hp, pre-owned certified, less than 1000 miles ($38,800) 2008 Corvette Coupe , 2LT, Atomic Orange, 426hp, pre-owned certified, less than 3500 miles ($41,000) What one would you go for and why? This is not a trick question, just looking for some honest opinions for a co-worker!

for those prices i would go for the gt500 for 500hp and an under 40k price tag you cant go wrong. but if you were wanting to take it around the track u would want the vette

Why is the SS not an option?
![]() GT500. The resale value on those things are criminal. It's crazy that people were paying $60,000 and up when they go for $35k very lightly used. If you don't mind having an old body style, that's the way to go. Really, all three are decent options, but the Vette and GT500 are more decent than the SRT8 right now. |

2009 SRT-8 .....but I wouldnt pay that much for it. Its used .... You should be able to get a better discount than that.
Oh yeah and I am probably partial. :-)

Why does the Camaro not factor in to this decision now? I know I know, the whole bias thing, but in all honesty, if you are considering those three cars you will probably be thinking of the Camaro as well. I guess I would go for the Vette otherwise though.

Well....
Man, see... it all depends.... What does he want? 2 muscle cars and one full blown Sports car. The mustang and Challenger are going to be better if he needs a back seat, and the only track it will see are the straight kind, (Speaking about these cars purely stock, no question the 'Vette will out handle them). The Vette will also get better fuel economy. Performance wise, The Challenger doesn't stand a chance to the other two. If somehow he could hold off a bit, he could get a damn nice Camaro SS that might make his decision easier for the price hehe

GT500
Challenger not even close and the Vette would love one, but GT has a better resale and if you get Shelby to sign it cool factor goes way up. Last edited by GrnMchin; 03-23-2009 at 03:02 PM. |

GT500. I see Vettes all the time, and once they get older, you really see them everywhere. I've only seen 1 GT500 on the road in 3 years, and i rarely see a '93-04 Cobra.
The C6 IS the prettiest Vette of the last 40 years though and if i had a Z06 to choose,i'd pick that over anything. |

I'll go with GT500. It has less miles and it cost less.
