Unbelievably Picky Scary Movie Q

I'm looking for horror/scary/creepy films with an autumn/fall/Halloween atmosphere. Also, I like /marks. And being early.

I'm talkin':

The Halloweens (some great, some bad, but all have varying degrees of the "feel" I'm talking about.)
Trick r' Treat
The Blair Witch Project
Satan's Little Helper (hilarious gem too few have seen.)

If it evokes the chill wind of autumn and red and orange leaves, if it prompted you to think, "THAT'S the film CF wants..." then mention it, please.

Some of my favs (OK, maybe not all the "halloween atmosphere")....The Devil's Backbone, Candyman, Suspiria, Dead & Buried, cemetery man, 28 days later, black christmas, evil dead, zombie, hellraiser, any of romero's zombie flix, The Eye (original), the ring (usa version), the descent, dog soldiers, hostel, let the right one in.

My two favorite Haunted House movies are "The Changling" from the late '70s with Trish Van Devere and George C Scott, and more recently, "What Lies Beneath," with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer.

No guts nor gore in either; just very taut thillers and good old-fashioned story-telling that make me pull the covers up....

The Thing and the first Hellrasier. Nothing nice happens to anyone in those two movies.

I lived in Connecticut for 6 years, there is nothing the least bit scary about that state.
