Close, but it was a pickled herring snack.

The person below me appreciates that homemade saurkraut is fermented in a crock stored for a few weeks in a cool basement with layers of salt alternating with layers of chopped cabbage with caraway and pepper then with layers of chopped apple then salt, ad infinitum until the crock be full.

The person below me remembers raising the flag at home for national holidays that had forty-eight, not fifty stars? I think my dad even had a 49 star flag for my 1st grade class pic-nic.
