That's why i said, If you still have money to get a camaro then go for it.
Because what would be the point of being on this forum for so long and not getting one.

Spike, that car brings back a great memory. Mrs. Number 3 pulled us one of the first (CTF) 405 hp Z06s. We are driving on Woodward Ave. (which I did today in the SS). Some kid in a Ford Probe pulls up next to me with 2 buddies in the car. Clearly a well "exhausted" car as he revved the hell out of it just to show me how loud it was. He made indications that he "wanted to go". I rolled my window down and asked, "are you serious? I've got 405 hp. He said, "I've go nitrous mannnnnn, I've got nitrous". Had to be there.

Mrs. Number 3 was heavily involved in the C5 with Chevrolet. I remember her bringing home the early hardtop car when it was supposed to be just a stripper. Cloth seats roll down windows etc. But someone realized making a cheap Corvette was just a less profitable one so the Z06 was born. My team did the Carbon Fiber hood in the last years production. So we have a warm spot for that car.

It is certainly a better price, but after cruising Woodward today and another 100 or so miles, I've come to the conclusion that I'd have a hard time taking a C6 or C6 Z06 over a Camaro SS. It is really growing on me. But a C5 Z at the right price is certainly tempting.

I've been there before, similar story. v-6 mustang with nitrous... against my 95 Z.... needless to say, I won the race, he just didnt realize it was over and plowed into me

I love the C5's. I respect the C6's, but id rather have a C5Z over a C6 any day. kinda the same way I love the LT1 camaros over the LS1 camaros. (tho I have a preference to LS1 trans ams). I just think they are sleeker and sexier.

man, i'd love to have one of the '00 model FRC cars (with the 02-04 LS6 swapped in). the idea of having a stripper would rock my socks! that's an option i was hoping for with the camaro: manual windows, locks, and seats

I know a lot of people that share you thoughts on the C5. Mrs. Number 3 was square in the middle of the headlamp "fiasco". There were those that really believed the car was ruined. Plus the C5 had some neat features, I still love the soft touch switch gear for the locks and windows, etc. Titanium exhaust. Plus the back bone of the car and chassis are nearly identical to a C6, just moved moved the front suspension forward a bit.

well, the C4s always reminded me of a "too late for this gen" 3rd gen camaro, tho I would love to own a ZR1 with an LT5. but when the C5s came out, I just loved their low, sleek stance. I will eventually get one one of these days if I dont pick up this one. we'll see.

the titanium exhaust was a nice touch tho. nice little weight savings.
