BOTH companies started with the eyetoy as its foundation to go after the wii market, and evolved it from there. PsMove is eyetoy + Mic + MoCap controller. Kinect is eyetoy + Mic + depth sensors. As far as price point you don't need the $30 nav controller at all, also its subjective sense the ps3 comes with a standard HDD, 3d compatible bluray player, web browser, and youdon't need $50 just to play games online. Add everything up and the 360 is waaaaaaay more expensive. $299 xbox 360 kinect bundle + $130 HDD + $50 xbox live + no HD format disc drive except HD-dvd addon thats $80 to match up feature for feature the ps3 has out of the box. Compared to the 399.99 Ps3 move bundle. Value wise the ps3 is the more bang for the buck largely thanks too bluray.

hilarious kinect video, notice he never moves and almost wins the race thanks to the auto steering in this kinect game. It defeats the point of you are the controller.

Truth, you remind me of a Mustang fanboy jumping into a Mopar/Chevy convo just to boost Ford.

All I'm sayin is that Kinect is pretty damned cool, and Nintendo better step their game up.

That was not my intention , my bad. People can spend there own money the way they want to, but lets say someone tried to sell someone a gallon of purified water for $20 because its " purified ". Then someone comes up and say "dude $20 is ripping you off through marketing" but its your money.

Ok perhaps you are not understanding me. But it does use SOME of the same tech as the Wiimote. They both use gyroscopes and accelerometers to calculate orientation and directional motion. That is the extent to the similarities I was referring to. Beyond that they are different. Thats all I was saying. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Gina bought the kinect last year and has loved it. She uses it for the workout games she "plays" with our friend in southern california, and also plays the kinect adventures and enjoys it. We don't have the ideal space to play it, but the games are fun and entertaining. There is minor lag on jumping because it has to translate movement into electronic signals instead of a button press, but it's pretty easy to compensate by moving a bit early.

I have no experience with the Sony move, but we have both Wii and Xbox360 w/kinect and the kinect impresses us more than the wii.

What I find most interesting about the kinect is the way that modders and universities are using it in ways other than gaming. Think my favorite one was when someone modded it to be used as a PC interface similar to Minority Report, then coupled that with that website that lets you zoom in on the night sky (totally forgetting the name of it now).

Yes, but let's add up the REAL costs here:

Xbox 360 4gb HD with Kinect package: $300
Nintendo Wii + 4 controllers (including the nun-chuck attatchment): $450
PS3 Move package + 3 extra controllers and 4 of the nav controllers: $620

So yeah, Kinect definitely is the cheapest option by far. Not to mention you don't have to worry about buying batteries, rechargeable battery packs, or new controllers if you manage to break the old ones...

Woah Blast form the past lol.

1. 3 things you forgot, the 360 Kinect package comes with no HDD and the 250gb HDD cost $130 + $60 (A year) to play games online. Also it is not a 3D compatible Bluray player in compliance to HDMI 1.4 specifications.

2. What in the world would you need 4 nav controllers for?? You don't need the nav controllers at all to play any move games. Also none of the PS3 controllers need any batteries, they recharge through a usb cable to any USB port.

Ps3 Move Bundle 399+3 extra controlers = $550
To get the 360 up feature for feature to the PS3 Means
360 Kinect Bundle + 250Gb HDD+ XBL Gold (Per year)+ Charge N Play kit+ Blu-ray (which is not available) = $510

At the end of the day cost of both are pretty comparable and IMVHO just play the one with Games that appeal to you and screw the fanboy nonsense. For me it has been all Playstation until Gears 3 comes out.
