1959 vs 2009 Chevy Crash Test Vid

To anyone that works for Chevrolet... Any chance something like this video exists for the 2010 Camaro and an older model?

We tend to complain about the weight of this car, but something like this (I think) makes it easier to understand why it's built the way it is. One driver would walk away, well, probably limp... The other one would be part of the wreckage.

There have been a number of these vids. It's cool to watch them. I'll forward this one to my dad like I did the ones in the passed. He said he's rather be in an old steel lincoln than in one of these 'Rubber Deathtraps' any day.

I've seen some of the testing vids for the 2010.. I'm just curious if there's one like this one where it's a 2010 Camaro going head on in to say a 1st gen Camaro?

There are more years in a 1st Gen than 1969. It was just a Gen I through out there. Wouldn't have to be a 1st..

Nice video, really drives the point home, but what a waste of a Bel Air.

Guess we all know where that extra curb weight is going these days. They would have had to clean up the chunks of the Bel-Air driver with a spounge.

I owned a mint black '59 Biscayne coupe in High school. 3 spd w/Corvette 283 Fuelie. Sold it to a kid that did the same left front damage- He was banged up but walked away and no seat belts in those days. Would love to get another one.

This is the ONLY video I've ever seen where a modern car slices through an older car like butter. I have a strong feeling the entire engine and transmission was removed from the bel air.
