Glock 9mm

My lower reciever just came in so right now I'm waiting on my upper to come in stock from Bravo company. Since I'm always thinking about mods anyone have any recs. for mods for my ar? I LOVE magpuls stuff and will be getting one of their stocks and iron sights as well as of course some mags.

I will be going with an EOtech with flip to side magnifier just not at the moment.

Any good front grips that anyone likes? I've seen the ones with integrated laser, tac light and bipod but not sure if they are reliable.

There are some good grips out there, but I'm not inclined to incorporate lasers into them. If you ever need the weapon in a defensive situation and go quickly to ground, I wouldn't want my laser being part of a grip and possibly slam it against surfaces. My AR is set up with a tango down bipod, solid front foregrip (no hidden bipod, laser, etc.) and a red dot aimpoint that co-exists with my iron sights. If my aimpoint fails, I would like the options of still using open sights. Buy what suit ya! - all it costs is money.

Colt and Bushmaster is what I own. I've owned 3 colts and 1 BM and I like both. For my money, I'd buy a Colt if I had a choice - a Colt is usually more spendy than a BM. Check your local gun shops for availability and pricing, but more than likely gunbroker.com (an auction and individual firearm sales site with literally 1000s of firearms for sale) will likely be able to beat your local mark-up prices.

If you find one you like on GB, then all you need to do is find a local FFL holder to have the firearm shipped (You'll pay shipping which is cheaper by ground) to him/her and the FFL holder will have you fill out paperwork t perform the transfer of the rifle to you. Usually a local FFL who will perform transfers to you will not charge more than $35 to $50 - this allows you to avoid a couple hundred $ mark up in a lot of occasions. I've bought at least 5 firearms off of GB and all my experiences were 100% positive - check reputations and feedback from sellers before you buy. When you get your new AR, let the mods. begin!

I am waiting to get my Bravo Company upper. Even gun nuts who shoot for a living are impressed with their rifles.

It all depends on how much you want to spend.....

I prefer DPMS or Colt. DPMS is cheaper than colt.

if I were going to go buy a new 1 right now, I would stick with piston driven instead of gas.

Why would you go with piston driven? Their extra reliability over direct impingement has never been proven. In fact, piston technology was around when Eugene Stoner designed the AR style rifles. You are spending extra money to solve a problem that does not exist. That money is better spent on training classes, ammunition, magazines, etc.

Based on these, unless you absolutely have to have a piston driven AR, 99.9% of people on here can get by with a direct impingement because they will never be in a situation where their guns are driven as they in the article and video.

True. I cannot say enough about my FN SCAR. It's the first piston driven rifle I've bought and it's well worth the $2300 I paid for it. A little loud - but that's what hearing protection is for.
