Whilst I have the utmost respect for cops, this guy I hope gets flattened by a bus! I couldnt care less!!

Its clear he has it in for me cos a couple years back the guy booked me for going through an amber light, 0.3secs too late. Yes 0.3secs too late. I said thats ridiculous and I would take him to court and did, but the courts being the courts it took one whole day and still it wasnt my turn. I was so pissed so the judge said come back... I said stuff it, Im not wasting another days wages on a jerk (inside thoughts btw).

So since then Im sure he's had it in for me.

He will not accept that I need to have the tints. All the other cops that know about this actually nod when I immediately open my window as they drive by as I always do to acknowledge their presence. This guy is a freakin dork and a wanna be judge and jury dont forget. Not sure how this is going to play out. Do I risk stirring a hornets nest or do I wait till he retires and works as a security guard and give him a hard time then lol!! JK!!

As already said in the other thread, the said exemption letter is NOT viable in court and only works on stupid cops.

...he wants to re-ticket me again for tints. I’m going get out of here!!! I’m thinking ....Youre kidding right?? Nope... he's writing me a ticket!

He didn’t care, I told him he NEVER stipulated a date by when I had to take off my tints and I told him its not like I love driving around with a disgusting fugly tear in the driver side tint that he created last time.
I do not know about Canadian law, but I can tell you this..

If you get an infraction, you have reasonable amount of time, per law, to correct, and to schedule a court date to show that the tint has been rectified.

If you get another ticket within and before your scheduled court date, this is called double jeopardy per se. This double jeopardy, in traffic cases, can only be permitted IF you do not have on hand, the copy of the original ticket issued to you. This is VALID in any jurisdiction. Say you get a ticket in a town 400 miles away. If you have the infraction copy, the officer CAN NOT write you another ticket.

You can argue that the officer is harassing you. And to me is a very valid defense. The officer, barring any Canadian law or provision is WRONG. The same officer CAN NOT write the same infraction 2 days later for the same waivable or correctable offense. Again, not Canadian law schooled, but I believe should be the same for equipment violations.

I have been with the Detroit Police Department for 18 years. I am very, very fair and civil when it comes to traffic citations. You have to be a complete moron to get a ticket from me. Besides, we are the murder capital...Have bigger fish to fry.

I would advise against that...get your windows tinted wait a week then try to tear it off, you'll learn why thats a bad idea.

Uhhhhh yeah.

You either fix the tint or don't drive the car. Technically, if there were two officers, each could have cited you. And, when you drove off, you could have been cited by a third who just showed up.

Dude...you got a ticket for tint. You didn't fix it, right? Well?...\

I mean...I'm not trying to sound like an ass either...but, if you don't fix it, it's your fault. And, you can be written another one tomorrow if you decide to drive a vehicle with illegal tint on the window.

Just an fyi...

You know, I would have a ton more respect for "The Law" if even five percent as much effort was applied to going after criminals in Washington and Wall Street for things like Fraud, Treason, Bribery, ect... Forget about the Billions of dollars that just disappeared from everyones 401ks, the collapsing economy or the thousands, perhaps millions of lives lost to lies and war profiteering, that tint looks a little dark. I know the answer already, its not my jurisdiction. This is one of the reasons civilizations collapse. Hopefully I'll be able to take delivery of my Camaro before it happens to ours.

sorry that really gets me heated.. ive got tickets for tint before as well,
my supercoupe is blacked out...i just pay the ticket, he has no right to vandalize my personal property.
its illegal so give me a ticket dont destroy my property..

so if they got a noise complaint cuz your new in house sound system was loud they have the right to come in and smash out a speaker?
