I can drive to Florida for the beach. Houston has good pay and a lower cost of living. We don't have tornados here. But we get the heat, which you get used too.
I can walk to the beach. Or rollerblade.

I can get there within half an hour, depending on traffic

They couldnt handle this outspoken crazy gun carrying Texas girl!
People are more outspoken here than you think. I've lived here for 6 years now and I'm thankful to be out of the heat and humidity of the south. They can keep it!

It's funny how everyone hates California and yet people continue to flock here for better jobs and beautiful vacations. Strange huh?

I can't fathom people saying, "hey we should go to Ohio to milk cows or bake in the Texas heat for our next vacation."

Pfft. Sounds like a good time to me.

California is also one of the top dairy-producing states.

Earthquakes really aren't as bad as you'd think. Sure, there's some level of damage when they hit, but most of our buildings are designed for it. Earthquakes are more of a novelty out here.

You're RIGHT! Our agriculture industry is huge as well. People usually only think of Hollywood or San Fransisco when they think about CA, but the whole middle of our state is devoted to agriculture and livestock.

Other than having a layover in Houston a few times I've never been to Texas and don't have any intentions on visiting.
