The negative of this is it is NOT emissions legal and is intended for off-road use only as it may allow some vapors to escape into the air (the RX model has an integrated one way check valve that prevents this, but is NOT CARB approved due to the cost involved, but it does not allow vapors to escape.
I thought air went in and out, and the RX only allowed in...

Hmmmm, interesting. I'll have to read up on it a little more.

The valve in the breather only prevents oil from escaping, that way you don't spray oil all over your engine compartment when you go WOT. Gases will still be forced out through the filter, as well as seeping out while the engine is not running. In reality though, even for green nuts the amount your emissions increases by this mod is quite small. Far less than, say, removing your cat.

On the LT1, a 5/8 vacuum cap over the port on the throttle body. On the LLT, I'm not really sure how the hoses are routed.

P.S. - To put it another way, gases HAVE to be forced out of that side of the system. If they can't escape, pressure will build up in the crankcase: the exact situation the PCV system is in place to prevent.
