Yeah actually, the quad tips are just fastened to the rear fascia, so its not even like the quad tips on the G8, which at least are all attached to a muffler.

I know this is about a different car but the Mazdaspeed6 has similar outlet shapes fastened to the bumper as well (single, dual outlets though) and looks extremely tacky/cheap. The end of the real muffler isn't even centered with the tips on either of the cars!

correct me if i am wrong, but didn't the Bonneville or SOME of the mid to late 90s grand prix's have the exhaust tips on their fascias as well? I cannot remember which one, but I know it WAS one of them.

Yeah, the domestic manufacturers, especially Pontiac, have been guilty of cheesy styling too. There is a fine line sometimes between cutting edge and going over the edge, and sometimes the stylists just get carried away. Whatcha gonna do? And the Mazdaspeed6 wasn't great, but the new Mazdaspeed3 is pretty darn impressive. I hear they did a good job minimizing torque steer, so its pretty good for a front driver. |
