Truck Owners DIY roll on bed linner
Id like to do some of that roll on / brush on bed linner in a can but want one that will stay black for a long time. Not fade or change color from UV rays n such. Im parked in the sun 24/7 365 and want it to stay nice and black.
Anyone have any luck with that? Or yours get so dirty at times ya never noticed? |

I used herculiner inside my jeep on the floor, it's held up nice and is easy to apply and u can find it like autozone or those places, herculiner makes a chemical u just mix in to the can with the liquid liner that prevents fading. And if u do it u may want to add more then 2 coats. And with herculine it comes in more than one color

found some review on herculiner, the tacky gooey part bothers me the most.
Says to bring it back to life you armorall it ![]() Maybe I need a new approach, cause Im not doing a bed linner. I want to use it to add texture to my wagons paint theme, I wanted to do the hood and most of the roof. Sort of a omage on the primer black hood done back in the day on performance cars. But with texture. Also since I don't have a roof rack when I carry wood or such on the roof it wouldn't slide all over. But if it got gooey in the heat, id be finger printed up in the summer months. Pros Helps to dampen some of the road noise. Easy enough to do it yourself. It's repairable, since it bonds to itself... just touch it up with more Herculiner! Is so professional in appearance, that most people think it's a spray-on bedliner, and that you paid Prevents things from sliding around in the back due to its slightly bumpy texture Cons Nearly impossible to remove from skin. Red, gray and white kits cost more than black. Has tendency to fade to grey with prolonged exposure to sunlight, but the luster can be restored. May tend to get tacky (gooey) in the summer's heat. Cannot let the liquid pool up too much in any spot or it will crack in those areas. |

I used Herculiner on my wood deck of my ATV trailer. Worked great for about a year. After that it was a peeled mess. I live in AZ so that may have had something to do with it. I have had sprayed in bed liners in both my trucks (02 and 05). Rhino liner has faded a bit but still looks great.

Did anyone have to do any tape masking when you used your bed liner of choice?
What kind of edge did your brand leave? Nice sharp edge or ragged? |

Both of mine are under the rail so there aren't too many edges. The ones that exist are straight and smooth.
