I like the Magical transaxle...one day it works...the next day...BANG! Nothing! It goes really well with the magical warranty that also disappears with the BANG! from the transaxle.
I am not really a big fan of the car. The output from the 3.5 V6 is impressive, but an engine that makes hp is no good if you shred the drivetrain each time you get on it. And the interior is totally '80's SEGA video game, which was COOL in the 80's. Not so cool now. |

There's an update for it now I think. The funny thing is, 0-60 w/ TC on is 3.5 seconds (lowest i've heard of was 3.2) and w/o TC it's 3.9. 0-60 IN 3.9 IS STILL FREAKING FAST AS HELL! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE!
Moral of the story... YOU DON'T NEED TC!

Glad they have a fix for it, but it seems like everyone will think you a joke for having one because it has been neutered by the factory now. Yes, 3.9 is fast, but the car now has a reputation - and it really is not a good reputation. How many people are going to look at the GTR's little sister 370Z and walk away because they are unsure of the gearbox?
This is EXACTLY the reason GM is being so HYPER careful with the introduction of the Camaro. They cannot afford for the car to fail out of the gate. |

I'd still buy one. I never go to the track so I'd just use it to drive around, possibly a road trip or two. The GT-R reminds me of a cartoon. In the cartoon, the character would be in some kind of HQ and there would be a giant red button labeled "DON'T TOUCH". The character promptly hits it, and the HQ blows up. In the GT-R's case, the button is labeled "TC" and you can understand what I mean from there..

If you haven't seen one in person, don't judge it. I was never really impressed with the looks until I saw it in person. It is a phenomenal looking car and will look great next to the Camaro one day!

I think the backside was done right, but that front end needed a miracle. I am a hardcore skyline fan, but I was completely turned off on the car when the pics of the front end came out. (well, and when the price was announced) I figured I would just look for the R34 if I ever buy one. It looks a looooooooooooooooot better!

I actually think it looks great. at least in real life (yes I've seen one). But it's overpriced and you can't drive it properly so therefore it fails.

I've never seen the GTR but I did get to see and sit in a 370Z at a recent car show. Not terrible, but I thought it was kind of uncomfortable and I'm still not sold on the overall look. I just don't find the ricer look appealling but I'm a little older so its not really my generation, well thats my two cents for what its worth. Are they made in Japan?
