Sync will not render the vehicle undriveable. When we update them the vehicle is not running , if there were any accidents during a reflash it probably the technicians fault. Around 2007 Ford changed the operating system on some of the newer vehicles and when you were doing a reflash on certain modules the IDS (scanner) would lock up and you would have to reboot the IDS. We would do a blank path reprogram which was deleting the session from the IDS and manually putting the pcm tear tag or pcm part number and the IDS would reprogram the modules automatically . After Ford changed the software they never told us that the blank path program would no longer work, you couldnt delete the session or certain modules would no longer be recognized after rebooting the IDS and render the vehicle inoperative . The only way to repair the problem would be to replace the module so the IDS would recognize the module id number, you could then plug the old one back in since the IDS recieved the id number from the module and would reprogram it or just leave the new module in the vehicle. |

Just to continue to stir the pot on that hill climbing video, I read that they used the Silverado 2500, not the 1500 half ton. Note that the video specifically did not indicate it was a half ton. Heavier truck = worse performance.
