Planet Dodge... http://www.planetdodge.com/
I'm going to check out Maroone Dodge of Miami next... Got this from a Challenger forum so I can't verify its accuracy. I am checking to see if accurate. This may be the employee price below for the RT.. MSRP for RT = $29,820 + $725 destination. Invoice for RT = $27,618 + $725 destination 5% of Invoice = $1380 Employee Price = $26,238 + $725 destination Empoyee savings = $3582 off of MSRP Got the latest info from this website below.. http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...us-update.html prices will be around 7.5% to 10% off MSRP. In addition to employee pricing and cash back, 0% financing for 48 months can also be added to these discounts. For example, assuming a 7.5% discount on a base Chrysler 300 — which stickers at $26,665 — and adding in its $1,000 cash-back incentive reduces its price to $23,665, which could be financed at a 0% interest rate.

What about the cool VIDC that comes standard on the srt8 which displays 0-60, 1/4 mile, 1/8 mile, G Force meter, braking distance, and a timer.Does the maro offer that? How bout the keyless go push button starting system? Brushed alum. foot pedal covers. And from my research the srt8 is about 170lbs heavier. Wow, big diffrence. They probably based that for the camaro on the stripper 1SS anyway. Fact is there will be far less srt8 challengers built than the camaro. Im sure theres more to post in this regard but like you im too lazy to look. You can get a manual srt8 for about $43k and with the rebates coming and the fact the cars been out for alittle, you should be able to do alot better than that. Which closes the gap even more.

I'll check out South Dade Dodge as well. I left a message with them on their website saying I wanted to test drive the RT and SRT8. What stripper SRT8 models are you talking about? I thought all were exactly the same in terms of what you get?

Price - YIKES at $44K I was quoted locally and just confirmed by building my own on Dodge's site to have everything you listed. Now add sales tax to that and I'm WELL OVER $45K - more like $50K for the car OTD. A comparable Camaro 2SS RS is MSRP at $37K OTD. WARRANTY - One of the big things that drew me to the Challenger to begin with was the lifetime power train warranty Dodge now offers. Let's be be really honest with ourselves on this one. Out of the big 3, Dodge is really the bottom of the barrel when it comes to quality. Everyone pretty much knows that deep down, and Dodge has the most issues and shows the worst performance on any of the quality testing I've seen. That's not a stab at Dodge, it's just fact. The SRT8 DOES NOT have a lifetime power train warranty like their other vehicles do. The R/T Challenger does, but NOT the SRT8. That was a deal breaker for me, along with the price. Now, I think it's great Dodge is going to offer these discounts on the Challenger, however the SRT8 is excluded. So you're back to comparing apples and oranges again since a Challenger R/T is NOT the same as even a 1SS Camaro, much less a 2SS RS. Dodge obviously believes the SRT8 will sell on it's own, without discounts, and without the lifetime warranty. I guess time will tell on that one, but with a 12-13 MPG city rating, and a 22MPG HWY, along with the price, along with the warranty I doubt it. Once the middle of summer is here and there are still SRT8s sitting on dealer lots they will likely get included. The sad thing is that will INSTANTLY depreciate everyone's SRT8 who bought about MSRP down to that level and they'll have taken a bath on the price. Just my 2 cents no change for your 5. |

We seem to have some inconsistencies surround whether or not the SRT is part of this new deal...

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

I canceled about a couple months ago to see what 2010 would bring and if it would bring a bigger engine ....or if I could get an incredible deal on a srt8 or RT I might bite...and I might bite on an RT now because if the rebates are correct, I can use the extra money on what I planned all along to do to the srt8 or rt......stroke it.

Ok, to compare the srt8 to the camaro, it would be the 2SS vs. an srt8 with the only option being the manual. That would be 42940, now thats sticker and if you do alittle leg work you will get one alot cheaper than that. Hell there are 2 loaded 6 speed srt8's on ebay right now for $41K buy it now. Now add tax which for my area is 6% which would be a total of 42940+2576=45516. Long way from 50 and thats buying at sticker.
Im not saying the chally is not more expensive than the maro, its just that you are getting some things you wont with the ss. Once you compare apples to apples the gap closes up. |

Bro, you can't throw out Ebay pricing trying to make an apples to apples comparison, c'mon. Go price one out on Dodge's website right now and tell how much it comes to....$44,995 if memory serves. Sales tax in MY area is about 8% on a car which pushes me over $48K easy. That's darn near close to $50K to me.
