While I am not a ford fan I am gald to see the big three in competition because it works out well for all of us. However, I suspect the cost will not be close to 40K as Ford says MSRP will be.

GM HINT HINT**** Notice the gauges on top of the dash in the BOSS. Would be benificail in the camaro

I'd take the Laguna Seca version over a gt500 any day.

Oh, when someone starts factoring the price of their car when comparing it to the competition, it usually shows their insecurity. I am neither a Camaro nor a Mustang fanboy, I own a supercharged version of both (aftermarket SC on the SS) but I will take a limited numper Boss over a not too special run-of-the mill Camaro any day of the week.
Well step up to the plate and sell your SS and go buy a Boss to put beside your GT500 then you have the best the blue oval has to offer

No need to sell the SS, just add the Boss to the stable.

That is true, I think I see a older 427 Cobra in that garage also, how about that for a blue oval stable?

So what if the Boss 302 laps Laguna Seca faster than an Audi R8 and the Boss 302 Laguna Seca laps....well, Laguna Seca.....as fast as a Nissan GT-R? Is that supposed to impress me? I gotz a one-fitty shot I ain't skeered. For those paying attention, that means a regular Boss 302 is neck and neck with a standard C6 Corvette on the typical road-course and the Boss Laguna Seca will outright take a run of the mill C6 out to the woodshed and come back without it.

Hell of a feat for a torqueless, oval track wonder......wouldn't you say? Good post sk.

It appears to be the exact same motor with just better turning. I race "Can Tuned" 2011 5.0 all the time at the track that probably make 444hp!

It's got 18hp more than a LS3 SS and at 3631lbs its only 229lbs lighter, and factory tires are a whole 10mm wider.

Lets compare.

MSRP of my 2010 LS3 1SS: 30,945
Add my muffler delete plus tips: 150
Add K&N: 380
Add NX plus GEN-X: 1,335
Add Trinity: 600
TOTAL: 33,410

MSRP of 2012 Boss 302: 40,145
.

And for all your trouble the Boss 302 would still absolutely leave you for dead on any road-course. I guess it's all about priorities, obviously handling isn't high on your list of the same.

While I'm not a Mustang fan by any means, this thing is pretty damn impressive for ~$40k. The numbers may not impress anyone but it's still a performance bargain and (stock for stock), it will easily beat anything in the current Camaro lineup.

That being said, I'll take my 2SS any day over something that basically LOOKS like the same generic mustang with decals and different rims to the untrained eye.

i like how the OP's opinion was against the Boss right from the start, and comparing it to a SS as if the SS is better, lol...

Intake on the Boss uses a substantially shorter runner length, thus improving upper RPM horsepower at the expense of low-end torque. You would see the same thing happen with the LS3 if they shortened the intake runners but likely a little less due to the larger cubic-inch displacement.

This stuff is not rocket-science.
