430? That doesnt seem right for a blown 5.4.

The CJ cars run quarter in the sub 9 sec range in a not so light chassis. So....that 430 HP is a sandbag rating. I believe actual rear wheel HP is somewhere way north of 650.
Here's a CJ car making a pass.Last edited by porcupinekiller; 11-29-2010 at 07:21 PM. |

I don't get it. Why would Ford underrate it SO badly? Seems to me that a great selling point of these factory drag cars would be the HP rating.

Pedders USA will be at PRI and we look forward to seeing the Camaro5 Community in Florida. Our booth Number is 5755. We have been invited to display the Pedders USA............................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ......................mustang in the foyer. On the other hand, we all know which car won Pedders Supercar Shootout
![]() ![]() A number of you have asked, so I'll answer here. This is NOT a Photoshop image. John is in the Camaro and I am in the mustang at speed on track 12" apart. You can see John is moving ever so slightly to his left because I was too close to him. Hey John -- CHICKEN!!!! ![]() ![]() All of you, even those poor misguided wayward misinformed souls with any brand-x bits, will be welcome to talk cars and suspension.

2011 Mustang 5.0 engine having reliability issues
If you race your 2011 5.0 Mustang and it breaks don't let your Ford dealer know you were racing it. It seems the 5.0 engines are having parts breakage. I was told by a Ford parts person that works in a well known SoCal Ford dealership bulletins have gone out noting piston scuffing, bearing oil starvation and high RPM instability occurring in the new 5.0 at an alarming rate. Which appears related to frequent high RPM situations. i.e. racing. Also be aware of modifications to the motor, the 5.0 does not like mods from stock. Seems this engine went from paper to design to a finished product in less than a year. Did Ford cut corners? Don't know. Most Ford guys are sticking with Ford Modular engine for very high HP.
