Just about all Car manufactures offer a 6spd transimssion these days from Hyundai to Ferrari!! I think your post is a good example of why ford can throw anything they want into the mustang no matter how much it underperforms compared to the competition, Because they know the have a radical loyal mustang fan base that will suck up the mustang no matter how crappy it is compared to the competition. I am glad that GM's camaro fanbase has Higher standards which has led to the 5th Gen Camaro that looks to be a truly world class car.

Its not fair! If they screw up the Mustang, they wont have to pay for it! Its like all major ford fans are brainwashed to like them (I mean like MAJOR ford enthusiasts). Even if it was a **** on wheels, they would still drive it if it had a pony on it!

Never did I say a 6 speed SHOULDN'T be put in a car, just that it was my opinion that it's an unnecessary and superfluous gear. It's also funny that you bash Mustangs and their owners about "sucking up the Mustang no matter how crappy it is compared to the competition" when as of yet, there is no competition; you and alot of people on this forum have put so much faith and passion into a car that isn't even in owners' hands yet. Obviously you have some disdain of Mustang owners which I don't even feel like going into. I was simply stating my opinion, which is basically the purpose of forums like this.

But we do know Ford has 6spd auto and manuel transmissions right around the corner for the mustang. I want to here Mustang fans thank the camaro, Because the Camaro is forceing Ford to make the Mustang a better car.

And I absolutely hate it when my Ford buddy asks me how my camaro is running, or what the mpg are or how I like that IRS, or hows that LS3 working for you......



And we were just showing our argument agianst yours... Some a little more maturely than other.... (sorry about that).

So, you will, for a few more months, be able to say, "no camaro no competition." To which we'll probably say, "Enjoy it while you can."

Well I mean, since Ford has basically been making the Crown Vic on the same chassis for like 20 something years, and the Ranger hasn't been updated (Aside from some body panels) since the late 90s, I can understand how they would be confused by the idea of a six speed tranny

Noooooooo I was not talking about all mustang owners!!! But there are some mustang Fanboy's out there that think the mustang is God's gift to the automobile industry. Thats all I was saying. I like the 03 and 04 cobras, in my opinion those were the best mustangs ever made. My friend hade one modified to 15psi and perfectly reliable, it was freaking awesome when he let that car loose. I loved being in the passenger seat hearing the combination of the V8 and the supercharger whine, It was cool as hell. Not to mention it was absolute savagre unleashed when you mashed the gas.. Good times..

I'll thank Chevy for the Camaro's 6 speed if you thank Ford for making the original 1964 Mustang that started the pony wars, and the 2005 Mustang that was the catalyst for Dodge and GM's reinterpretation of the Challenger and Camaro. I think that's a fair compromise.

Using your logic that will be bad for the mustang BEFORE it will be bad for the Camaro, because the Camaro has SUPERIOR Fuel economy than the Mustang.

Gas prices will affect Mustang buyers just as much as Camaro buyers, since they're both performance cars. I can agree the Mustang would survive in such a scenario on the idea of its sheer popularity, but NOT because it gets better mileage, especially the only model that actually COMPETES with the Camaro.
