I had similar thoughts to Prima Donna...could this be a stunt for ratings?

And reading the posts, I'm in the minority...I think Jr., Vinny, and Mikey are a-holes....(flame suit on)

Sr built the business, Jr thought he had different rules than everyone else, and he's now facing reality; - FAILED boutique for his girlfriend
- FAILED Jr designs...a tailgate grill...really?

So know he's resorted to trying to build bikes...an idea started by Sr.,...so much for Jr doing his own thing...lol....

The only thing I have a problem with is that Sr never put Jr in his place. He basically left a door open for Jr to keep being late all of the time. He's the father, and fathers should treat their sons like employees when it comes to work.

I'm not saying Jr was in the right, just that Sr was never in the right to start with.

Here is your flame... j/k

I definitely think that the ratings play a big part on what is seen on TLC. It’s their show and they want viewers. The more viewers, the more money for TLC and the Teutuls… So you know that the Teutuls gave the cameras what they wanted. This family has issues and that is what people liked; show me the perfect family? But, I don’t think things went this far because of it being on a show. The oldest son has nothing to due with American Chopper and even Sr has admitted to not having a relationship with this son.

From what the show puts on the air, I lean towards the side of Jr. If Jr was the only bad apple, then Sr would have relations with is other sons, but he does not. Sr probably should have had never let his kids work for him.

IMO if it was not for Jr designing the bikes they would still be made in the back of the steel shop. I doubt that Sr would have sold too many old school choppers in the last ten years. He put out half ass crap and sadly they show this on the air, now that Jr is no longer part of OCC. How many times have you heard Sr say just weld it on there or I don’t care I just want it done. Sr might have built the steel business from nothing and started OCC with his money; but Sr, Jr, and Discovery Networks built OCC to what it is today.

Not sure about the failed boutique because it never started. I'm pretty sure Jr made some money on the tailgaters grill.

I think in today's economy it is going to be hard to start any business; especially a custom bike business. Only thing he has got going for him is the tv show pushing the product.

I think the problem here is once Jr became a 20% owner in the company he figure (I think) that his dad would not be a-hole supervisor anymore. Come on, they are both owners of a successful business and making a ton of money.

The boutique never failed because it was never opened. He wanted to focus on his plan and dumping money into a business where the market was weak was a bad idea. He was smart not to go through with it. His company hasn't failed it's just beginning. Sr. owes a lot to Jr. but won't give him the satisfaction of admitting it. They would be nothing without each other. Jr. will do fine. Will he be as big as OCC? No. Probably not. He will do very well though. Because he knows how to make a great looking design and he can get people like Rick (maybe even Rick) to join him. His only obstacle is himself. He needs to WANT it. Like any business. You only get what you put into it. Only time will tell.

Watching the old shows helps.

Discovery plays them everydays from noon to 4pm EST

The Cody bike build was on, the first green bike with chrome raised stripes, in the old first shop, SR was almost ballin on the couch as him n JR went over stuff.

SR feels alone having the run the business and what JR does is all childs play, just slap the bike together already.

And JR feels the same way, all that biz work SR does is easy child play work and he feels alone how he must come with a $150,000 bike in 7 days as SR rides his butt.

I basically watch the show for entertainment...any care's beyond that are nil...

That being said;

- True, while Jr's. "boutique" never existed and therefore cannot be considered a failure, he did invest in it, re; buying a building, etc., and what ebcame of it? Part of any business plan is to determine the market, and economy, which Jr. seems to have failed at in attempting to open a "boutique".

- Rick; Personally, I think it's a classless, low, .... act if he's in fact trying to get Rick to join him. If Rick chose to leave, thats one thing, but to try and lure him away...BS. If Jr's so bent of creating his own identity, seeing as his attempts at a business other than drawing bikes has failed, at least he could find his own employees.

- JR; I'd lay money, that he'll realize everything thats involved in owning your own business, and will not want to invest the time and effort. Example; Jr designs = ONE client, Coleman.

As I initially stated, I really don't invest too much thought into either of them. They're both pretty well off and will be just fine.

Just remember, there's always two sides to every story...Jr is not a victim or blame free.

He did the dog park first and has done probably 4 bikes by now for companies, we have seen pics of 2 in this thread. Its still the same company.

But like you wouldn't take a hundred grand + to build a grill and have your face on it???

I think the grill was a great idea though.

The press or PR for his company is worth more then what he gets paid..

Being his first real client, he gets his company and face out in the general public quick, getting more eyes then TV probably. Plus the variety of people. You might find a OCC tshirt at Kmart but they don't get face time like the daily in and out of folks walking around a home store.

Only thing better would be to have a product that gets put near the register. I could see his crown logo on some "extreme" branding gum or a drink.

Personally, I'd be embarrassed if all I did was change the color, put a little diamond plate in places, and add a few other small items, and then try to get people to spend more money for a product that did not perform any better than the original product. "A hundred grand" should have been more than just an appearance package IMO.

But, as I've said earlier, I still watch the show when I can, and remain in Sr.'s "camp"...personally I cannot stand Jr.

OK...moving on....seriously...I'm "done"....

Jr.'s bike is beginning to take shape. I like the tank design. It's funny but now that Jr. is in the owner role he seems more committed than then when he was at OCC. Sometimes till it's all on you you just don't get it.

i just watched the opening scene of tonight's episode. Sr and Jason Poole are po'd about Vinny and Mikey being on radio. Sr can't stand that any of them are getting any credit for OCC . Jason is mad too. says he threw up in his mouth. Jason Poole?! jason poole?! dude, no one remembers 'your' designs. go back to your computer and play a video game.
