Don't throw gum out car window!

A couple of weeks ago, my husband & I decided to take my Camaro & his Crossfire to a cruise-in in Clarksville, TN (a drive of about 30 min from our home). So we washed & detailed both cars & set out with me following him. He decided to take the interstate. When we arrived & got parked in our spots, I started checking my car to remove any bugs I had picked up during the drive. I saw long lines of something along the driver's side Camaro badge & lower door. As I started trying to remove it I discovered it was gum. It was a very hot day so I figure someone had thrown gum out the window, then it melted on the hot pavement. As cars ran over the melted gum they were throwing off tiny threads of melted gum & flinging it on to my clean Camaro! It was really a mess to get out of the Camaro letters & off my paint. Hope this never happens to any of you & that you never do this to any other car enthusiast.

That is one of my biggest pet peeves. Hate stepping in gum due to someone's laziness.

Add cigarette butts too that list too! Ashtrays work for both...Doh!

Did have an experience with gum with another car.............what a "B"

Funny thing, that happened to me yesterday. I will now keep Goo gone in my detail kit.

I've had something like this happen before... I used bug & tar remover and it came right off.

my sympathy to you, but there is light at the end of the tunnel,, well at least good fortune for you compared to others....here in Fla.. on I-75...a truck with HOT TAR,lost its load of tar,,,,and ALLLLLL over the road,,,,a car behind him got it good,,,yikes...
soooo in the grand scheme of things,,,a gum ball...LOL//// have a good day..

For sure there are much worse things that can happen. Several years ago here a dump truck load of hot asphalt turned over on top of a car & killed the driver; literally burried in hot asphalt. Still it was very frustrating & totally preventable. Stuff like that is so rude & selfish. I got upset one morning when I saw a guy empty his ash tray as he drove down the road & stuff flew all aver all the cars around him. Another day someone threw out a fountain drink & splashed other cars. I just hate disrespectful people!

Also dont let someone puke outside your window when driving. My girlfriend learned that the hard way after driving her friends home from a wedding. They thought they would be fine with the speed they were going. Lets just say it looked like a horrible paint job across the entire rear quarter of the car.

right on with that, no more saving a drunk friend nights for me my buddy always puked out the side of my red 4th gen, try gettin puke out of the rag top.

Only thing I toss out the window are throat oysters n sure you wouldn't want that dried on your fender either

That makes me mad too. I thought I had a scatch and it was gum. YUCK!!!!!!!!!
