We are a Camaro community. That mega thread is the home of Mustang discussion. If people here want to discuss Camaros, they can use the whole site. If people want to post about Mustangs, they can do it in the proper place.

Does everyone forget they have already tested the SS on a road course against a 2011 GT?

.1 second difference.

Offically, the Camaro Z/28 doesnt exist. All people know is a specially marked and modified Camaro was spotted testing on the Milford proving grounds and a paper on the dash listed a SuperCharged V8 engine. Thats no proof at all, I can put a piece of paper on my Challengers dash that reads "7.0L V8 Automatic 5 speed"...doesnt mean my Challenger has a 426 Hemi in it.
So..the Z/28 doesnt exist, (yet). Also..the ZR-1 isnt Americas fastest sports car, so you're wrong yet again. As of right now the fastest, straight line stock American sports car is the Ford GT with an electronically limited top speed of 205 MPH.

The Dodge Viper ACR (which was street legal and was available for common sale) set a Nurburgring record (topping the ZR-1 and GTR) of 7:22.1.
(That means it is faster than a ZR-1)

I'm not saying the ZR-1 isnt an amazing, supercar slaying machine..it truly is. However, you betray your ignorance when you make broad, blanket statements like that.

Also, your statements about most Mustangs having Chevy engines is again wrong. The five fastest Mustangs I've seen run at my track were all powered by Ford engines. The absolute fastest, a 10 second 65/66 Mustang is powered by a 427 SOHC "Cammer" Ford engine producing over 700 HP. It's damn near unbeatable, and there are alot of fast GM motors running at my track. I've also seen Chevelle's, Camaro's and such running Mopar and Ford engines.

So to sum it up, you're wrong. Do your homework before you boast.

Blue Maro Demon, from reading your posts in this thread it is painfully obvious you have no mechanical knowledge what so ever. Turn some wrenches, go drag race your camaro (IF YOU GOT THE BALLS) The mustang fanboys need to chill out too, Ford has the edge....for now. I have been a GM fan for years and I love my camaro, but I respect other brands as well. Just my two cents.
Last time I checked I never said anything about mechanics so not sure where your coming from there. I simply was talking about the weight of the Mustang thats it. The mustang fanboys are just annoying on this site so i'm just telling it like it is if they want to deny it it's up to them. Putting this
up isn't doing anything to me except it proves they dont want to accept facts. As far as mechanics go I have a drag Monza car so not sure what point your trying to make wheres your drag car at?

You mean you didnt boast and strut about that GM motors are so fantastic everyone uses them? Seems fairly mechanical to me..

Last time I checked a Ford GT was never faster than a Corvette ZR-1 stock. So not sure where your getting that from every drag race between a Corvette & Ford GT the Ford lost so not sure bout that. And I know about the Dodge Viper beating it at the Nurburgring but it's a moot point now since they discontinued making them this year. Every car I have seen them pit the ZR-1 against online it has won.

I wasn't saying ALL Mustangs run on Chevy engines and I know the fastest ones are usually on a Ford engine. What im saying is there are ALOT more Mustangs with Chevy engines than Camaros with Ford engines. I know that for a fact i've been to multiple drag strips and seen Mustangs with a Chevy engine but only one Camaro with a Ford engine. Theres a reason for it they are better engines. Why do you think a Mustang on Pinks won with a Chevy engine? I can't name how many Mustangs I have seen on that show running on a Chevy engine at least 6 maybe more. So really i'm not wrong there are some Chevy's with Dodge or Ford engines but there aren't many with Ford engines. I go to drag races every weekend so I would know.

I didn't say everyone uses GM engines either I never stated that. What I was saying is you usually find more Mustangs with Chevy engines than say a Camaro or another Chevy with a Ford engine.
