Chrysler Thanks America

In gratitude for their loan, Chrysler will be advertising their approval of the low-interest loans Bush authorized. The message is a simple one that identifies that Chrysler invests 78% of its resources in America. Article is by Leftlane.

Discuss.

Just stop building crappy cars and all will be forgiven.

Id rather drive a Ford than a Chrysler.

i realize chrysler fills a rather low $$ range in the auto market but it just seems like they make all their cars from the same parts bin to save on costs.

People see this, and for that reason they dont buy. When you dodge ram looks the same as your avenger which looks like your charger which looks like your 300, people tend to wonder how much effort actualy goes into these cars.

Ford has the Fusion hybrid and the Fiesta coming from Europe, GM has the Volt, but I have yet to hear about any REAL improvements from Chrysler?! The Sebring? lol.

wow... so rebadging and parts bin parts mean low quality....

You do know that GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc.. all do the same thing right... Maybe not to the extent that Chrysler does.. but they still do it...

Since Cerberus acquired Chrysler, build quality has been a top priority. While this may nor reflect part quality when it comes to the dash or design components, it is important to point out that Chysler has well-built cars. Just because the dash is made of cheaper materials, people seem to be convinced that the engine is going to blow up in 20 miles. If you applied the same formula to performance cars, there would be hundreds of racers asking why the carbon fiber hood doesn't match the paint or why there are back seat brackets but no back seat.

Reusing low quality parts means low quality. Plain and simple.

You want to know why the new Ram is such a hit?

...

...

Because 99% of it is new. And they put effort into it.

I really don't mean to rip on chrysler, but because this is turning into a debate i feel like i should reasonably present my side.

I can honestly say without a doubt that if the Challenger had as unique and bold an interior as the Camaro id be on that forum right now... BUT i dont want to have to check my mirrors to make sure im not in a 300 SRT.

1. they arn't low quality parts.. they are mass produced parts.. there is a difference. You can have quality and mass.. but its not common.

2. I agree completely.. the interior left me feeling like i was in a charger/magnum. That is partially why I'm not buying one as well. (the other is price and modability).

However you slice it.. the LX series sells and sells well because they are good quality cars.. just boring and un-inventive/unique.

PS the new ram isnt completely new.. its got a brand new redesigned rear suspension that increases ride comfort without sacrificing load/towing and then sheet metal/interior redesign.

I want to like Chrysler. But over the last 5-10 years they seem to have focused more on expressive styling than fuel economy or reliability. That said, I would still rather have a Charger R/T over a G8 GT simply because of styling. I know that they are making gains in both areas, they were just a little behind the curve compared to the others. As much as I hate Ford, they have made the biggest improvement over the last 10 years than GM or Chrysler has.

i agree with you ....and i blame daimler for part of the disaster over the last 5 + years...but at least they finally got the styling right.....and i could care less about the interior of a muscle car....but it wouldnt hurt to mix it up a bit.

No offense to the Dodge fans (I love the Chally myself), but I wouldn't wipe with that if it was sent to me. Dodge/Chrysler is owned by Cerberus Capital Management, who could have easily provided a "bailout" of their own if they decided to use some of their $24 billion in assets to restructure their company. Hell, maybe they could even have gotten Dodge to create and promote a fuel-efficient car that people will actually buy instead of sinking millions into promoting their new Ram non-stop on the NFL. But hey, why should a parent company pay to fix its own properties when the American taxpayer can do it?
