That sounds about right, actually. A stock Mustang with drag slicks put down 12.3

Shaving off 8 1/10th's that with the mods listed is entirely possible.

I'm saying legit.

Completely believeable.

Here is a vid I took of a friend at the strip this past weekend. Not sure if I posted already or not:

Mods are listed in the video description. This was at 2800' DA as well.

The auto cars appear to be the dominant types vs. the manuals.

Same trend is showing in the Challenger world. The auto cars are dominating 6 speeds in the 1/4

A well built auto with a good stall will always be a very strong contender at the track. Generally better than their manual counterparts.

I'd love to see what this new 5.0L would do in a stripped out fox body. Imagine the new Boss create motor with full bolts on's and a 200shot would do to a 2700lb notchback.

Well well into the 9s. If not high 8s.

I would love to see it too.

My guess is mid 9's with LT's, catless, free flowing exhaust, Xpipe, Stall, DR's and such.

Take a stock motor and standard exhaust and plunk it into a 2500lb fox body racer? mid 10's maybe

As would I. Me and a couple Fox body guys were talking about this a couple of months ago. I don't think we'll have to wait a whole lot longer before we see this happen. There are still quite a few Fox 4 bangers out there that would be well suited for a project like this. My guess would be mid 9's and high 9's all day at almost any track, with those bolt ons of course. Straight swap of that drivetrain should be good for high 10's with a really good driver.

That engine won't cost 10K. They will be selling for $6,999.

Oh yeah they do, I was going to use a friend's slicks at the track on my setup which is mated to a T5. After a couple practice launches on the back roads, I figured the transmission wouldn't hold up too long. It would just slam my head back into the headrest.
