Yeah, better effects and graphics should always be at their peak in a star trek movie IMO. I view Star Trek as a kind of "Premium" viewing experience, so I would expect top notch quality. Nothing less.

I disagree. I think after Star Trek 3 in 2014-2015 it would have been more than 10 years since the last show and it would be perfect timing to introduce a new WELL DONE TV show. If it was done right with the right people it would work.

but in the 60s show the Enterprise was built in san fran near where starfleet headquarters was. but i am sure they did not build the whole ship but sections of it and had it assembled in space. as much as i loved the new movie the 'new' ship is SO big how the hell did they get it off of the planet's surface? also the 60s enterprise and the 'refit' in the move were only about 300 feet long end to end, and the Enterprise D was over 1000 feet long (you could place both the old enterprise within the diameter of the 'D' saucer section .*takes off dork hat*
